Same old issue. Yokohama problematic battery.
Waited an hour for technician.friendly guy and changed to delkor brand in 5 minute.

he even told me the passenger hinch may have a loosen screw which I checked and found what he said was true. He tighten up for me too. This is what I call work the extra mile. Got his name and shall write a recommemdation letter to peugeot tomorrow.

Guys, go check your door hinch (the black color one). I am pretty sure its loosen for most of the cars as he said it is normal, some manufacturer defect. That is why u will hear a click sound wjenever u open or close the door.

Good luck.

Bro ..when u said Same old issue with yokohama, does that mean u had previous bad experiences with yokohama? If so, i will avoid using it.
*
Few users have already had their batteries replacedprior to mine.
tehchnician also told me last night that there was a car 408.s battery explode. I pity the owner. The explode battery was yokohama made. Its a local made battery. What shocking me most is that the yokohama battery is supposed to be maintenance free but if u peel the sticker, there are few holes that requires topoing up of water.

The fact that you were able to start the engine several times indicates the battery is in good shape. It may just be an electronic glitch. Nothing to worry.

If it happens often then is very likely an ECU problem. When the problem gets worse, engine will not start. In that case better see the SC asap, the engine may stop anywhere anytime!

I beg to differ. The problem with peugeot battery particularly for 408 gives no warning before it went dead. So, one should not conclude the battery's condition just like that, fyi, I even had my battery checked at the sc one month ago for a special check, the diagnosis shows battery in good health. Guess waht, it went dead on wesak day, with no warning at all.

Sending back to sc may help but dont put so much high hope on them. I doutb they could detect anything. My 408t had on few occasions facing loss of fuel for a second.(was driving and suddenly car slow down with a significant loss of fuek feeling). Sent back to sc and they say everything is ok.i guess, we will have to waut until our car break down only sc will take it seriously and rectify the problem.

I had a door screw missing and had to pay rm1.80 for replacement.for the same door, the senior technician did not know or have thefirst hand information about loosen screws on other secrion until I was told by another technician who came to change battery fir me on wesak day. He even helped me to tighten it. What really upset me is that sc does not record this problem and have all 408t checked and rectify when owners bring their car in. Its a chance for them to impress clients but nasim did not capitalise on this.

Its a great car to drive but its not perfect.we cant habe the best of 2 worlds. So, just bear with it and pray our car is not a lemon.

Gather all affected owners and sign a petition asking for a replacement.

Is that possible?

Try revv the engine ordeive at least 160km constantly for 1 hour. Then dont start ur engine for 2 or 3days.. Maybe tge fan will draw the battery energy until it drains out.

The above could lead to dead battery.....

if my car goes into limp modewhile crusing on high spee. I will be dead by then.

Fellow 408 members, if u have sudden loss of power even for a seconds or 2, better send in your car for diagnosis.

Luckily I brought my car in, otherwise I wont be abke to know the turbo problem.

QUOTE(imifun @ Jun 8 2013, 01:23 AM)
EP6CDTM,

I have yet got the chance to install the insulation kit... not completely that is. only the hood, the bonnet and the front passenger door. The rest, maybe tomorrow. Been sick and busy. And not to mention the pages that accumulated at this forum just for a few days. Anyway, just to share with you guys my "battery" experience.

I was in Tapah last week when my car just completely wouldnt start. Tried to jump-start the car without reading the manual and failed. Called the careline and told me that although the battery is less than a year, my mileage is more than 20k km, so I had to pay for the battery. While waiting for the technician to confirm exactly what time he can be there (it was 2.30pm and the earliest he can arrive is at 6pm), we tried to jump-start the car again, after reading the manual... and success! Called the technician and he advised us to drive the car to Ipoh. Nuts! Why the heck would I want to drive to Ipoh. I decided to drive straight to Kota Damansara SC and of course, along the way, the meter died, the aircond died and the warning "stop" sign pop up more than 10 times (for less than 2 seconds each time). Upon reaching the KDSC, they confirmed its the battery and quoted me RM680 for the same yokohama battery. I was definitely not going to pay RM680 for a battery that lasted me less than 9 months!!! So they said they had Vitolite (not sure whether thats the right spelling) and its out of stock. They check and said they have Delkor. But they quoted me RM471, I was quoted RM455 (cant remember) when I first called the careline. I asked them to check their system and said its the standard price. Not happy, I called Eugyn and he confirmed the price is RM455. The not-user-friendly lady at the counter was not so keen to double check. While we tried to argue with the Technical consultant, we were told that the size of the first quoted battery at RM471 was of the wrong size. The right one cost RM455!!! Kena charge RM30 for labour and got 10% discount for being a privilege member (i misplaced my card somewhere then, but they still gave me the discount). The not-user-friendly lady had the nerve to call me to pay up first as they were closing. What an experience in KD and I am definitely not going there anymore. So, with only 1k km left before 30k km service, I called up the Glenmarie SC a few days ago and managed to get an appointment on 20th June. Since I travel almost 100km a day, I have to limit my drive on my pug, huhuhu...

Honestly, I love this car... but I hate these lousy SCs... and those parts that hardly last... if you ask me, would I buy another peugeot... NO! (just no... not never)

Skyjack ,its gonna be lengthy and negative feedback although I love the car so much.

Went to glenmarie 9.30am. Collected car at 4.45pm.

only went for a test drive wkth a technician at 10am.then, my car was sitting there for nothing.
Went out for lunch at 12.30pm as I was too hungry and too frustrated. I needed fresh air then.
no shuttle service when asked bcos driver went on leave for 2 days. (Driving me crazy with all of the excuses)
Called cab but was told no taxi nearby glenmarie area at that time. (Saw few taxi passing with no passenger inside. (Malaysian companies are really sucks)
Hailed a cab by the roadside after 20 minutes of sweating under hot sun.(as usual, berapa bang kalau nak pergi sunway pyramid?) Driver: how much you normally pay? (With a very cunning smile).
Me: rm10??? (Check online and found out that if I called a cab, it should be rm11-13 to go to pyramid)
Driver: dont worry, I use meter. (I was stunned and surprised too. First time a taxi driver volunteer to use meter in kl.selangor I meant. (In my mind, I was thinking maybe it will cost me rm7. Can save some money la.)
When reached destination, meter shows rm8.50. I was still sceptical that the driver gonna return me rm1.50 as I paid him rm10. (He did return me rm1. Eventhough it should have been rm1.50.i was really happy)
it was not the same when I bought a taxi ticket from sunway pyramid ticketing booth. It cost me rm20 for the same distance to go back to sc. (Blaming sc as I was in the taxi bcos I could have save that rm30 if they had a huttle service.

back to service center. Called their service manager saying I at the service centre. Would line to know the status of my car. He said my car confirmed had turbo issue. Already taken photos and sent to peugeot france for warranty claim approval. I didn even managw to see him. Super disappointed and already exhausted with the long waiting. (I enquire about my car status every hour and was told technciains are all busy, I was really frustrated and gave the service advisor a piece of my mind. (If you don't have enough technician, don't make the appointment with me, I came here with the appointment given. Of course I expect you have your staff to attend to my car and not waiting for 3 hours for nothing. )

told them many times, don't wash my car. Again, they washed. I guess they just don't understand simple instruction. Or they are not serious with their job.

I was given my car keys with no written report on the status of my car. I azked, is that all? I done my car here waited for one whole day and take my car back with no feedback from you? Just a verbal confirmation that my car has turbo issue? (Lack of turbo) my face really turned Black as charcoal. I needed a report, I told him.
He went back and came to me with a report sheet written lack of turbo and mri taken and sent to france. (I couldn't read the pre printed words which are in French) I habe it with me. Want me to post here?

I went there 3.6.2013. I was told 2 or 3 days should get reoly from them. Its already 8.6.2013. I m giving them another week before making calls to them again.

My advice to fellow potential would be pug owmers: dont buy. Unless you wanna test your tolerance level.
( I do enjoy cucuk belakang civic, inspira, vios, altis, camry with this 408t) smile.gif)))

What can ido? Already bought the car so I will just enjoy the thrill of cucuk belakang. Sometimes show off the muscle of the engine at traffic light.

As for the turbo, if indeed gets to replace broken parts, it will be at sc for at least 1 to 2 weeks. Haih.. gonna use kapcai by then.

The ironic thing is I m driving a turbo car without turbo now. Funny!!!!!
