On another note,

for those of you who are into hacking/cheating games and familiar with cheatengine (memory hacking), there's an app similar to that in android called gameguardian. It works the same like cheat engine where you search values and edit them. this means unlimited game cash, hp, etc.

.nomedia is a file you add to prevent your android mediastorage service to scan for media in that particular directory.
some apps like comic/manga apps which consists of many image files will tend to have this file in their directory, if not your gallery app will show all those images as well.
