Well we are not talking about status symbols where the Note is concerned. I just don't know why owning a crapple product equates to a status symbol.
Samsung never marketed their stuff as status symbols, just good tools to be used. LG occasionally does the status symbol thing (Prada etc). Nokia used to do that with some of their premium ranges (although I personally felt those had crap features).
Vertu on the other hand, is a Nokia spinoff purely for REAL premium phones, with luxury materials for the casing and all that (diamonds, gold, sapphire glass etc) but again the features are crap. And they advertise in all those glitz and business magazines.
crapple on the other hand always markets itself is being different. Well since everyone's different now, in the aggregate you are the same ?

It's a testimony to Samsung marketing that promoting a good tool made it successful, instead of some nebulous "feel good with the extra row of icons" factor.
Sorry to say, not to say I'm being judgemental, but by looking the way you replied on Apple stuffs previously, you're kinda bias. Seriously, you are referring to other people, but other people thinking is not equivalent to me. LOL.
In my humble opinion, it's not about Status as other's keep making fuss about yada yada yada. It's all up to the users on which ecosystems they prefer the most. You like the Note, the S-Pen, that said that is your opinion, some might think they can be way more productive with iDevices. And in fact there's no answer to which phone is the best, it's which phone you suits best. And Windows Phone 8 is not that bad either.
Lols, I don't want to continue with this anymore, is more sounds like Fanboyism towards Samsung, and I'm not into it. And there's no perfect phone, the build quality of Note 2 no offense. you guys fill in the blank. No offense ya. Cheers
