Hi guys,

Just a quick question. Im on 4.1.2 with stock rom, nothing flashed or rooted. Say if I want to revert back to 4.1.1, what would be the easiest way to go about it? Would I have to root it to get it back to the previous firmware?

Many thanks in advance if anyone could shed some light. smile.gif
*
kaliku i think the best way is to flash the 4.1.1 rom through odin. you don't need to root it to get it back to previous firmware.

BTW ... ipr0n is not cool anymore :

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Asian-count...m-Apple_id39142

...owns an Apple iPhone 5 but poor battery life and her desire to watch movies over a larger screen is leading her to switch to the Samsung GALAXY Note II. Chan sums up her feelings when she says, "After Steve Jobs died, it seems the element of surprise in product launches isn't that great anymore." But it's not like Apple isn't selling any phones in the region. Apple's new Hong Kong store has long lines going out the door almost every day. But ironically, this kind of success could be hurting Apple. With too many people sporting the familiar looking device, the Apple iPhone is no longer a status symbol in the region.

Status symbol is Vertu (15k+++), and the early Nokia Sirocco series (4k)  whistling.gif

but the thing is I personally felt that Note 2 is quite common these days as well, just went to car wash the other day, was waiting in the air-conditioned room, the person of the left, a mechanic uses Note 2 to play Nova 3, I was sitting at middle with my LINE POP, and people on my right was Facebooking with his Note 2 as well.

My mum is using Note 2, my 3 other classmates using Note 2 as well. sooner or later I think the same thing will applies to Samsung as well.

well, i disagree. at least samsung has quite a few of popular models. S3 is still quite popular for those who think Note 2 is too big.  Apple has only iPhone.

don't get me wrong, I didn't say Samsung is no good. I'm just saying human do always after something more than the usual. Something that can continue them to get excited. if Apple had made the world go "wao" years back, they can always make a comeback in the future, but not now I guess.

Well we are not talking about status symbols where the Note is concerned. I just don't know why owning a crapple product equates to a status symbol.

Samsung never marketed their stuff as status symbols, just good tools to be used. LG occasionally does the status symbol thing (Prada etc). Nokia used to do that with some of their premium ranges (although I personally felt those had crap features).

Vertu on the other hand, is a Nokia spinoff purely for REAL premium phones, with luxury materials for the casing and all that (diamonds, gold, sapphire glass etc) but again the features are crap. And they advertise in all those glitz and business magazines.

crapple on the other hand always markets itself is being different. Well since everyone's different now, in the aggregate you are the same ?  laugh.gif  isheep  whistling.gif

It's a testimony to Samsung marketing that promoting a good tool made it successful, instead of some nebulous "feel good with the extra row of icons" factor.

Sorry to say, not to say I'm being judgemental, but by looking the way you replied on Apple stuffs previously, you're kinda bias. Seriously, you are referring to other people, but other people thinking is not equivalent to me. LOL.

In my humble opinion, it's not about Status as other's keep making fuss about yada yada yada. It's all up to the users on which ecosystems they prefer the most. You like the Note, the S-Pen, that said that is your opinion, some might think they can be way more productive with iDevices. And in fact there's no answer to which phone is the best, it's which phone you suits best. And Windows Phone 8 is not that bad either.

Lols, I don't want to continue with this anymore, is more sounds like Fanboyism towards Samsung, and I'm not into it. And there's no perfect phone, the build quality of Note 2 no offense. you guys fill in the blank. No offense ya. Cheers laugh.gif

Doesn't rom modding/flashing get you excited?  laugh.gif  Instead of the same UI for 6 years. Hell even Windows lets you mod your desktop.

crazyissac Even DBKL staff use Note/Note2.  rolleyes.gif

Still my point was about a good tool and functionality vs "feelgood I paid more than others"

I gotta agree with you with this. Undeniable. Is bored. That is why I'm here. Nuf said.

joytest does has some valid points you know on what he had said about the status quot. Most of all my friends who own ip phones they usually feels like they are driving a merz or a bmw. The price of the phone is so absurd for me if want to compare the features it has. I was never enticed to get one. If you want to call me an Android fanboy too, go ahead, I don't mind. at least I know I have made a smarter choice than those ifags out there... biggrin.gif
*
yeah, he has some valid points, & I don't deny the fact. it's not only you nor @joytest faced this, I do have this kind of friends too, but I don't see a reason dragging them in whereby they keep showing up their i5 4s whatsoever and they didn't even eventually knows how to use it. They're just getting it for sake it's Apple logo, and I couldn't understand why should compared to them. I'll be pretty much excited if someone from the other side were able to prove that their iDevices can do as much as Android can do, be it Jailbreak or not. No, I won't call you an Android fanboy, because I need to call myself as one too, since 3 years ago smile.gif That's what you think, or I think eventually, there's always different mindset at the other side.

That's true. Some of my friends want to change to i5 just because it's so called faster. And bigger screen size, which is still 4 inch. Another absurd reason will be, their current Iphone lags. So must change to a newer one.
*
hmm iPhone 3GS lags miserably, iPhone 4 lags as well, on my side the storage is almost full.

Sad to say but true. Another friend thought of changing i4 to s3, the i5 friend told her not to. Why? I5 more expensive, hence it is better.
*
seriously, i can't accept this reason. at least give some valid reason, this is totally ridiculous

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jan 28 2013, 01:50 PM)
Expensive means better?

Mind you. Note 2 cost 2229, iPhone 5 cost 2199. Both 16GB. One with a tiny 4 inch screen, one with a 5.5 inch.

And you were saying?
*
should tell his i5 friend straight to his face. although they're comparing s3 with i5. rclxms.gif

YES - at its batch menu, select restore missing apps only. I have been restoring apps from my very first Nexus One and progressively build up the backup. Everytime I change a phone, I used back the same set of TB . So it is not limited to just one phone type
Any incompatible apps will not be restored
If you have crack apps, prepared for FC and error issues
*
uncle benny, is there any possibility to restore by just one click rather than restoring 1 app by 1 app on TB?

It is a one time investment.
Worth every penny, so don't save this money if you intend to do a lot of flashing.
Another must buy app is Mobile Odin Pro.
I have these 2 and totally save my life.
*
yeah I have Mobile Odin Pro. seriously I'm really tired of entering the setup menu again & again & again and downloading the apps from the web google play store again & again LOL.

oh ya, I've been outside just now, I've got approx 92-93 +/- % of my battery, and approx 2h 10m 33s on battery, battery drained all down to 67-69% +/- with just normal usage, 3g h connectivity, web browsing, insta, 4sq, fb, twitter those. checking the battery, the screen uses the most of the battery up to 74%, the use details of the time on the screen is 1h 17m 1s, and it's on auto.

kinda battery hogging isn't it? thai firmware, monx custom rom, perseus latest alpha kernel.. haiyoyo...

There is an apps that do this, as long as you have root access.
Go Backup, just select all n backup, then store the database, then later restore. And it's free.

all restore within 1 single touch? if that's the case. it's really awesome.
