You should try Orange Backup. Don't need to reboot into recovery to make nandroid backup. only 5 mins. Compatible with CWM and TWRP..

Note 2 out of box is Android version 4.1.1 but then updated to 4.1.2.

would like to confirm ... what is factory reset?
Is it just wipe off all data and files stored on the phone and reset to the earlier state of the phone?
Or just wipe off all data and remain on latest android version 4.1.2?
and what is the difference between hard reset (reset via home + volume ^ button) and soft reset (reset via setting)?

upload your dumpfile in dbox. check in /sdcard after you hit dump to file in bbs. if you can provide 25% dumpfile drop overnight will be better so i can check with you which apps keep awake your phone overnight...
