Planning to upgrade my house 1mbps streamyx to 8mbps then cut astro and watch china iptv, then I will use hypptv to watch free channel.

but too sad coverage only 4mbps and not going to get 4mbps because lack of free channels like TV 1,2,3,7,8,9 for my parents to watch news. Will continue to use 1mbps and astro.

Really too sad, wish I'm under 8mbps coverage. The taman beside me can get 8mbps, really sad.

finally able to pick up set up box from tmpoint rawang. i went 4 times, fourth one nets me the set up box.

1st system down, 2nd system down, 3rd no stock, 4th voila! damn.
anyway, had trouble on first login. the paper didnt say to put @tvos at the back of username. had to call 100.

after everything settles and got to see the channels, OMFG the quality even worse than 360p youtube. no wonder why they are giving this free nowadays. some channels has adaptive bitrate though, after around 30 secs the quality seems a bit better but not crispy sharp as you would see on proper hd.

havent test the usb capabilities yet. i HOPE it can read mkv blu rays ripped at 1080p or at least 720p or i will be pissed so hard.

hi bro,

i just subscribed to 8Mbps. upgraded from 4Mbps
and this is my speedtest

user posted image

for torrent, i can easily get around 800+KBps to 1MBps..
but thats also depending on the health of the torrent i.e amount of seeders

hey guys,

thinking of upgrading my streamyx 1mbps to streamyx 8mb. My another option would be unifi 5mb.

actually why did you guys take up 8mb since unifi is better? because unifi has quota allocation may implement in future? I thought 8mb also have quota?

Streamyx - Throttled (P2P,Streaming), no quota
UniFi - Unthrottled, quota but havent implement yet.

Unifi is a better choice, not to mention better stability compared to Streamyx.

hmm. i'm a heavy downloader, thats why i'm concern of the P2P / streaming part. If i get streamyx, i still use another "tunnel" but with unifi once quota implement then gone case la.

Go for it if you know what are you doing then, and streamyx upload is pretty limited too.
