QUOTE(andyng38 @ Jul 20 2017, 10:05 PM) First try your old adapter using a know-working power outlet. If it's really dead, then bring the adapter to any electrical shop to look for a replacement unit that has the same output and polarity; those shops along Jln Pasar, Pudu should be able to sell you one. Thanks for your advice.May I know estimation cost of adapter how much? As I planning to move on Unifi lite (havent decisions yet, bt mayb next yr already), I just wish to get adapter very basic only (not nid so good quality one) As I knw this type of streamyx modem unable to use again during Unifi |

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Jul 21 2017, 11:39 AM) Thanks for your advice. Adapter prices range from RM10 to RM45 depending on brand and quality. Suggest you look for one that's around RM18-19 for safety's sake.May I know estimation cost of adapter how much? No regrets. Cheaper and faster upload speed. Am passing my d'link modem to a friend who can use it. |

Joke of the day I receive a call from 0322413121 claims to be from TM, the lady claim that they have fixed the cable issue near my area which they claim is the cause of my wrongly capped speed (Not sure how it is related as the downstream speed is the same since last month "Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 4096" the value never change).
Logged into my router and saw it is still "Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 4096 , Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 511" I don't think I need to bother trying to test my download speed by looking at the value of the downstream in my router to figure out if my internet speed is fixed. Wonder what should I say tomorrow morning when I receive the call from tm? |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jul 25 2017, 06:44 PM) I remember requesting for a technician to verify this issue from last month. They claim it is due to faulty cable outside my area and they are currently fixing it during that time and today it is fixed. I am not sure how does a faulty cable is related to my wrongly capped speed which have been the same "4096Kbps" downstream for the past month as I check it everyday, should it not change every time since it is cable issue? *Currently chatting with TM Live chat Khairul upon checking the account is active Khairul currently there is no service disruption Khairul when i check the port, it is already configured to your package Khairul the technician even open the port to higher speed So why am I currently getting 4mbps only Me.. ADSL Info Line State: Showtime Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 511 Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 4096 Me.. this is my modem stat Attachment showing stat of my router He can't answer me anymore and currently asking my to wait lol This post has been edited by Adriel: Jul 25 2017, 08:26 PM |

Hopefully I won't type too much I am not sure how does a faulty cable is related to my wrongly capped speed which have been the same "4096Kbps" downstream for the past month as I check it everyday, should it not change every time since it is cable issue? Years ago when I was on the 4mbps package, my speed dropped to 2000+ kbps. Dialed 100 and complained, no use. Went to TM Point and complained...also no effect. According to them, all was normal. And my speed was stuck unwaveringly at 2000+kbps. Got fedup. Made a printscreen of my modem stats, printed out hardcopies, and put a copy onto a pen drive. Went to the TM technical dept, registered at the guardhouse, left my IC with the guard and went to see the head of the dept. I politely explained my problem, gave him the hardcopy and he transferred the jpg file from my pen drive to his pc from my pen drive. The head of the tech dept was quite a pleasant fellow. He pulled out a clipboard and showed me all the other complaints he had from the streamyx users on my street. And then he explained there was a power cable problem; the fluctuations in the electricity supply was causing problems and had also probably damaged the DSLAM in my area. Not enough power and/or damage had caused it to fallback to a lower speed. He then asked me to be patient for a week and they would try to fix it ASAP. I thanked him, shook his hand and left. On the following day I saw ppl digging out the cables that ran to the DSLAM and putting in new red plastic pipes. The next day I saw a technician fiddling with the internals of the DSLAM, and that evening my speed was back to a proper 5000+kbps for my 4 meg package. Hopefully you won't have to go thru what I had to do. I'm no techie, but maybe since they say the cable problem is fixed, you could call 100 and ask them to reset your port and/or check that you are properly capped. Dunno if the DSLAM box serving you is still "stuck" at the lower speed, and has to be told that it's ok to resume normal bandwidth? Good luck! |
