Fantasy novel writer Touno Mamare has been suspected of concealing earnings of roughly 120 million yen (~$1 million).  The Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau has filed a formal complaint at the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor’s Office against Touno Mamare in his real name, Umezu Daisuke (age 41), and against his intellectual property holding company m2ladeJAM.  He failed to report royalty income from sales of his novels Maoyuu and Log Horizon.  Touno earned an estimated 120 million yen in a three year period ending in 2014.  He and his company owe approximately 30 million yen (~$250,000) in corporate taxes.
