I'm a noob on tyres, and need some advice.
I noticed that the Continental CC5 has different tread design. Some has 4 ribs, while some has 5. Why is this so?
I'm also planning to change tyres, but don't know what to get. I'm comparing between the CC5, Yokohama C-Drive 2 and Hankook V12 Evo. Which has the best performance in the wet?

QUOTE(MrRaj @ Jan 24 2013, 07:50 PM) Is it the regular A-Drive or R1? Good in wet conditions? How is it compared to the C-Drive 2? This post has been edited by kingsleysoh59: Jan 24 2013, 08:04 PM

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Mar 10 2013, 02:38 AM) c drive 2 are among the quietest tires ive used/experienced, have you checked if it isnt bearing issue or other issue that may cause noise? The bearings are all ok. I noticed the noise the moment I drove off from the tire shop. With the previous tires (Michelin PS3 195/55 R15) there were no noticeable noises.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Mar 11 2013, 04:00 PM) my experience with ps3 (at same/similar size) are noisier than c drive 2 though. hence i am curious what you may be facing 2 days ago, I heard a loud metallic noise while turning a sharp corner. Later found out one of the bearings in one of the inner CV joint was broken. Replaced the whole driveshaft and the tyre noise was noticeably softer, but it's still there. Just in case for those who doesn't know, this is how the bearings of the inner CV joint looks like.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Mar 17 2013, 02:29 AM) hmm perhaps inspect the wheel bearings, tie rods/bush etc? (loud metallic noise should not relate to tire noise anyways) The above parts you mentioned and a few others were checked at the same time while replacing the driveshaft. My mechanic says they are all still ok. Anyways, I can live with the current "lowered" noise. This post has been edited by kingsleysoh59: Mar 17 2013, 01:49 PM
