Immediately there were rumors that Microsoft is planning to call the Xbox 720 as Xbox Infinity (the 8 represents the ‘infinity’ symbol). It’s just a speculation and its entirely possible that Microsoft will call the new console as Xbox 720 only but seeing the domain name purchasing move, Microsoft has something up on its sleeve.
Some other names also came out, like Xbox Loop. Microsoft has codenamed the new Xbox 720 as ‘Durango‘ which came out on Twitter, but was taken down very soon.

The official specifications are not yet announced for the Xbox 720 but the rumors has it that the new console will be much more powerful, more stronger and efficient than the Xbox 360, that’s expected.

Sources said on VG247 that the Xbox 720 will have two GPUs, much like ‘two-PCs tapped together’.
The Graphics Card are thought to be equivalent to AMD’s 7000 series GPU(Still awaiting final cofirmation). The GPUs will not be structured as in a dual PC set-up, The Xbox 720 GPUs will be working independently.
There will be “four or six” cores in the Xbox 720 GPU, one of them will be for Kinect and the one will be reserved for OS.
The new Xbox 720 will always require an Internet connection as an anti-piracy measure.
Rumors are that the next-generation Kinect will be built-in the device as standard.
There are high possibilities that the new Xbox will come with a Blu-ray drive. Microsoft also launched an HD DVD Drive for the 360 so there are high chances for the Blu-ray drive packing for the Xbox 720. It makes perfect sense.
