It’s been the talking dead for a long time, but we finally got a look at what Telltale’s upcoming Walking Dead episodic series would look like.
For the Walking Dead, Telltale didn’t want to create a series that just followed the show or the comic, and neither did series creator Robert Kirkman. Instead Telltale created a new charter named Lee – a prisoner who was being shipped to prison on the day the Zombie outbreak occurred.
Telltale told us that the game isn’t about saving the world, it’s about solving the problems right in front of you, problems like having a broken leg or being hungry. Telltale is hoping to capture this spirit of survival in the game. The game is about exploring small intimate spaces.
Since the comic is in black and white, the game gets to explore the use of bright vibrant colors, while also keeping a very comic book centric art style. “We’re trying to make the characters feel drawn even when they’re moving and talking,” said designer Sean Vanaman.
The game is still about talking to people and solving puzzles like many adventure games, but Telltale is also working to make player choice persistent throughout the series. If you choose to save a character in the first episode they’ll remain throughout the series, but if they die you’ll never seen them again. Players will have to live with the choices they make. “Characters will mention things you did earlier in the game and comment on how they feel about your actions,” explains Vanaman.
We still haven’t seen the game in action, but the game looks great in still images. Check out some of the game’s concept art below, and see how it compares to the actual in-game art. This is the first in-game screen that Telltale has released.

FIRST! P/S: Haven't Google it but if you cut the hand, would you have survived?

nah, just the same. the difference is when you're going through the zombie horde at the hotel, if you cut the hand, you'll only use the kitchen knife instead of dual wield.

Dang, I was thinking of replaying and see if chopping the hand off will open up different story/scenes where he stays alive with Clem. Likewise on Lily as well, I am frigging annoyed with how that emo-biatch has to go crazy with a gun, to top it up, she actually stole the trailer as well. Really hope she came back to help us but I guess in a real world scenario, I would be better off dreaming LOL.

Either way Lee wont survive at the end. Chopping his arm off give him more time but i doubt it. He is as good as a dead man once bitten by the zombie. In the end, it shows Clem is alone. I wonder if Clem met with Omid and Christa at the train station and stay with them?. How will they link the story with season 2

i almost rage-quit when this happened. Carley is the closest to what we can call a leading lady and TTG drop her just like that. not even a fair fight with Lili. dem!
btw, thanks for creating the tered.

at first i was a bit apprehensive about the game. with ppl call it an "interactive novel" and all. but TTG managed to pull it off. though it did not quite turn out to be the way they promote the game. all that storyline adapting to your decisions and such. e.g.

1. Carley can't be saved. 2. Lee still turns into a zombie even after losing his hand.

1. I even thought of going back as far as not stealing the food from the wagon, so that the psycho guy won't come after Lee and Clem, did anyone try this?

i took that path. the man still after clem, claiming that lee is to be blamed for not warning the others.
The first season of Telltale Game's The Walking Dead is done for (much like half its cast, you monster) but players may not be able to escape their pasts so easily. Telltale CEO and co-founder Dan Connors told Red Bull UK the studio is looking into carrying over choices from one season to the next.
“Right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two,” Connors said. “This all remains to be seen but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over.”
The original series put player choice in the spotlight with unrelenting judgment calls, many of which forced gut decisions on a panic-inducing timer. A plethora of decisions led to a complex array of relationships with survivors and not-so-survivors, which could be an interesting challenge to integrate with a new story.
Connors said comic series creator Robert Kirkman allowed a great deal of autonomy in the process of forming the first season's narrative. Telltale would like to pursue further licenses, perhaps even in other game worlds.
“Coming from LucasArts [former home of many Telltale employees] we always felt we could do a great Star Wars story game,” Connors said. “We also love the idea of building out a deeper story to a great game franchise, something like Half Life Stories or Halo Stories.”
They should carry on the story and save as it would make more sense, though I wish that there will be an option to select some specific start for the second game/story where you don't have to purposely replay the first game to get different scenes in the second game/story.
