OMG. 2mbps? planned to install cctv in my house. if 2mbps , still can view cctv?
*
I think based on the conversation i saw last time in maxis forum, nope cant view cctv.

I'm thinking of VPN as alternative if all my games really can't connect to their servers ( need to test again tonight ) but that'll have some extra cost to it.

Multi-SIM, please update me if this can be shared. smile.gif

I mean if it is not going to deduct from my current quota or will be having a separate quota? blush.gif

If that's the case, I will get one and no longer attach to Legacy multi-SIM. Thanks. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(kertas_a4 @ May 20 2013, 11:53 AM)
there will be penalty if u want to downgrade. if want to upgrade, FOC.
*
yeah, standard business model, but what I don't get is basically after 2 years, they still disallow you to change the package as you please. I thought streamyx can last time

ok since it's confirm just a change of APN, gone is my idea to get VPN biggrin.gif
2Mbps DL/UL is tolerable for me when I need them, other then that I'll change back to private IP, especially during PPS sessions biggrin.gif

last time i read on maxis forum they say need letter from company to activate public ip also?

but they said the same for changing LTE sim also i recall, so maybe end up no need one lol

anyway maxis CS is just dial 123 from phone?maybe I'll call them to activate mine tonight when i reach home also

just a note about using Maxis Public IP (unetp) to host anything. You won't be able to access it from another Maxis 3G/LTE connection. It is how they design the backend routing. Kind of inconvenience I'd say.

For example,
I have a modem at home using Public IP to host a IP Camera. When I go outside, I can't use a smartphone with Maxis SIM to view the camera. It only work if you're using Celcom, Digi, etc. I'm using VPN as a workaround to view it on a Maxis SIM since VPN will route through a different gateway that Maxis'.

Speed for Public IP is burstable even though QoS stated 2Mbps DL/UL.
*
sorry that I don't understand, I need more explaination on that part if you don't mind biggrin.gif

no worries. it means that although the QoS says only 2Mbps Download or Upload speed, you'll still get more than that on actual use. Hope this clarifies. wink.gif
on another note, I don't have any issue using my company's VPN which uses Cisco VPN solution.
*
My company is using juniper as their VPN tool, not sure what type of VPN is that hmm.gif

but the burst also is maybe +- 1Mbps?

I'm supposed you'll need to test it out to see if the VPN works.

For the burst, it's inconsistent like any other 3G connections. I can get up to 5-6Mbps download speed depending on the time of the day as well as the load and maximum speed of the cell tower. In my area, the maximum speed I ever clocked on a normal private IP connection is around 10-12Mbps on a DC-HSPA+ network and it's during graveyard shift.
*
if it can have 5-6Mbps I don't even mind leaving it to public IP lol biggrin.gif

anyway for multi-sim, only can have 2 sim? or one main sim that is able to call/sms and the rest are just cloned sim with data only?

i see. meaning maxis official support lte only for iphone device. so after that just use nano sim adapter right?
maxis are using only 2600mhz for their lte?
*
not for iPhone only, there are a number of devices currently supported, Lumia 820, 920, HTC One XL, Asus Padfone 2, iPhone 5, maybe more but these are the few that i remember now

Maxis is using 2 frequency for LTE now, 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz, 1800Mhz has higher penetration but maybe it's more congested due to more iPhone 5 user, the speed I'm getting is lower then 2600Mhz, but Ms Fruitie here is getting very crazy speed with 1800Mhz. If you modem can only use 2600Mhz, I suppose it's still fine also, I'm using that frequency as well, so far so good
