QUOTE(l3ryan @ Mar 8 2013, 04:33 PM) mine is the medium setting, they say spring rates are 6|4 front and rear, so considered not the overly hard setup. Hmmm, i see. I did ask Wai Loong for the full setup with that spring rate but he said go for partial setup coz is not comfortable.when just installed coming out from their workshop, i felt it was over firm by a bit and was hopping here and there over some rough roads. but then after 2 days the springs kinda settled and now it felt much better compared with when just installed. excellent going over speed bumps, even better than the soft ori suspension where it would bounce up and down, titan just goes over it nice and firm. thursday morning sent dad to airport to catch 5am flight, i came back via MEX and the road was basically empty so i did a 200km/h run, was solid as a rock at that speed but i think the rear might still be a wee bit too soft with still some bodyroll so i might go back to them to change to 6|5 setup next week, still need to find one day go "sightseeing" at ulu yam and genting to decide yea that's how they do their alignment and i was told it's perfectly ok on straight road i let go of my hands from steering the car still goes straight la so i think it works? So What did your dad say? Did he notice you changed the suspension? Coz i'm on partial setup with tanabe sports springs but is hopping like i'm not full setup. Not sure what was the problem now plus there are sound coming from the front and rear as well. |

QUOTE(k00Lric @ Mar 8 2013, 05:06 PM) Hmmm, i see. I did ask Wai Loong for the full setup with that spring rate but he said go for partial setup coz is not comfortable. it was hopping at the first two days, but after some hard cornering and bumpy roads at high speed like the MEX-Dengkil-LCCT route the springs got seasoned quite nicely and now it's much better. So What did your dad say? Did he notice you changed the suspension? Coz i'm on partial setup with tanabe sports springs but is hopping like i'm not full setup. Not sure what was the problem now plus there are sound coming from the front and rear as well. uncle richard says it'll take around 2 weeks for it to settled but now less than 1 week i can feel the improvements edy compared with just installed that time, definitely wouldn't call it uncomfortable, slight hoppiness at low speed through rough roads but understandable la with sports springs so still can tahan la. i told my dad i modded it, and he likes how it feels. previously he always complained my car shouldn't go over 160km/h cause feels floaty and not stable, but now after installed titan he says much better braking and highway ride also better, surprisingly. he always liked firmer ride cause he's used to continental cars in the past, and he's quite the road warrior himself too This post has been edited by l3ryan: Mar 8 2013, 06:01 PM |

QUOTE(mercury99 @ Mar 8 2013, 05:32 PM) less nose dive = better braking.and my dad noticed the wheels feels more planted while braking, probably due to either the better designed absorbers, harder springs or lowered ride height. This post has been edited by l3ryan: Mar 8 2013, 05:42 PM |

So i took his word and went for it and now like this. Koolric, yours is not stock partial setup already, yours hybrid. Tanabe lowered springs akin titan springs but you dunno the ratings. Plus he also said my tanabe springs is progressive and is soft to his standard. With 2 fellas sitting on the car boot edge, the rear wheels went inside the wheel arch. And is already is 1 week plus, still feel the hopping even when making turn in slow speed like exiting from a car park corner. |

QUOTE(azfamy @ Mar 8 2013, 02:52 PM) Yes, that is one of the many assumptions. My summary was "low RV is offset by low purchase price". It's obvious that when both cars have the same purchase price but one have lower RV, then there's no need calculate anything. But note that the calculation is based on historical figures thus like all other financial estimates, does not predict future values. A safe disclaimer this reply probably summed up the whole thread imoLike I said, the point of considering RV is to manage/minimize your liabilities/losses. Financial prudence is about managing both the positives (assets/gains) and negatives (liabilities/losses). Like it or not, RV is a real issue. Middle income buyers in developed countries also look at RV as a factor. You'll see reviewers mentioning RV as as plus/minus points. By cruching some numbers, you can estimate if the loss is "substantial enough" to stop you from buying the car you're eyeing. The question is then, are you willing to take the financial loss considering what you gain (e.g. safer, better ride) from a lower RV car? I think having a rough figure is better than to brush of RV just like that. Unless you love the car so much, or too rich to care. Maybe next time I'll try to calculate Merc vs. Volvo or Audi vs. Bimmer. In these cases, RV may even play a role even though buyers of the cars above are not exactly poor. jaysus my friend drives this |

QUOTE(l3ryan @ Mar 8 2013, 06:19 PM) I think mine also almost went inside wheel arch, when driver seat occupied. Erp... too late to take picture, next time mayb do it in TT. Alamak. Mine got little sound still, looks like more obvious compared to last time after Tuesday visit to Titan. Hmmm... My dad still dunno yet. But others--mom, sister, brother all know due to the bottom up issue. |
