Hi all, I have oily skin and have pretty much forgone using a moisturizer my whole life (on hindsight, very silly thing to do), and long story short, I've found that I can use Clinique's moisture surge (the orangey-gel thingy) and my face won't break out or get oily for the day. I am using Sasa's jewelry BB cream and i usually mix the two in my palm and apply to get some coverage on. I find it's a fantastic combination, but there's one problem.

the fricking moisturizer is like, RM 16X for a small 50 ml bottle and it's ridiculously expensive for something that's 90% water. Now, does anyone here have any recommendations for a similar moisturizer that is GEL BASED and does the job the same way it does? The main reason why i incorporated the moisturizer is because the bb cream is too thick so I experimented with using it and it works wonders for my complexion. My budget is below 40.

Much thanks in advance

I like gel based moisturizer too~! hehe! i am combination to oily.

another cheaper alternative will be barrier repair by mandom beauty. it looks like this

http://www.mandom-beauty.com/barrier_repai...ly.html#DAILY03

i am a person who likes to try new stuffs. i am not a loyal consumer when comes to make up and skin care. Hair care too. LOL! but there will be times that i will be out of budget in some particular months and coincidentally unlucky, my skin care ran out at that same time, i will always go back to barrier repair because i know it will get the job done satisfactorily with a fraction of price. hehe!

it's alcohol free, paraben free, fragrance free and coloring free too. they come in milk lotion, which is very light moisturizer for oily skin but since i sleep in air condition room and even my workplace is heavily air conditioned, i use the above moisturizer, which is meant for drier skin. but due to my surrounding environment, i find it didn't give my oily skin any problem. afterall, it's gel. absorb fast too.

you can also try neutrogena hydra boost. it's also a gel moisturizer but i prefer barrier repair more (japanese bias, sorry). LOL! plus, i think (to be stand corrected as i can't really remember clearly) that barrier repair is cheaper than neutrogena. right now watsons is on sale, it only costs RM30++

other brands like HEME has gel based moisturizer too but I haven't used it before.

kanebo freshel that just got into watsons but was pretty long ago in SASA.. i am not too sure if the moisturizer is gel base but you can check it out.

hmm.. that's all i can think of right now for affordable price products.. brands like hada labo, juju aquamoist and shiseido's senka are for hydration too but their moisturizers are lotion type; although in lightweight form.

there are some others but those are departmental store products; hence the price will be something like clinique if not more expensive.
