What I have mentioned earlier were all premium comfort tyres Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is in Max / Ultra High Performance category already Others in UHP that can be considered like Hankook Ventus V12 Evo, Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31, Continental SportContact series, etc.

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Jan 22 2013, 04:18 PM) When the tyre is on the balancing machine, do take note if there are movements in the tyre/wheel when it is spinning. Also check if there is abnormal corrosion or dirt on the mounting surface between the wheel and the brake discs, preventing the wheel from being mounted properly. Check your suspension components for play and also your driveshafts. I had a case of vibration that is due to the driveshaft being bent. If all fails, ask the shop to change the tyre. Bent driveshafts? How did the mechanics found out this problem? Just by visual inspection? In your case at what speed did the vibration occur?

Yeah.... just jack the car up and run the car.... can already see the driveshaft oscillating. bent driveshafts have a very distinct vibration. Normally it is fine until you decelerate then accelerate and it is more load and RPM dependent instead of just speed. Mine was vibrating as low as 70 to 140. My mechanics didn't suspect the driveshaft until i told them to check. Turns out my seat of the pants diagnosis was correct. This post has been edited by jaycee1: Mar 4 2013, 09:44 AM
