roughly I think a BMI index of 20 is ideal for any height.
Like for my height now, 182cm - 63kg , BMI 19.3 This post has been edited by teehk_tee: Mar 25 2006, 10:05 PM |

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Mar 27 2006, 10:46 AM) there's another more accurate way than BMI, i forgot the calculation though but it like a waist to something ratio... It varies on individual. Your ideal weight is not solely depend on your height.Do u have small bone structure?? Or u have average or big bone structure?? Big bone stucture person will have a heavier weight (about 2.5-3kg) than small bone structure person. And then are u a body builder??? Too many factors need to considered!! I always think that BMI 20.5 is the best for male!! |

Irresistible is right when he said varies on individual. You need to take note that muscle is heavier compared to fat. Thus, if you manage to workout and convert the fat to muscle, you may get heavier.

here is how u count
weight (kg) / (height (meter) ^ 2) BMI : <20 (UNDER WEIGHT) 20 - 25 (NORMAL WEIGHT) >25 (OVER WEIGHT) example 58 / 1.76^2 = 18.72 (UNDER WEIGHT) |

Men: Height in cm - 100 * 0.9
Women: Height in cm - 100 * 0.8 These calculation will calculate the ideal weight for female and male. Can plus or minus 3 kgs. Still in d ideal weight range. |

aiya, the bmi is pretty useless. it can't predict anything that a naked eye can't. if you're fat, people will notice it. if you're obese, even more so. just go home and take off your shirt, if you like what you see. you're fine.

I look pretty good with shirt, but when shirtless look a little bit too skinny i'm totally the opposite At 175CM and 66KG's (YEAHOO!!!! Up from 64KG) I look completely harmless with a shirt. Without, I look a lil better. Bloody genetics are bad. |

The BMI is crap. They really should scrape it. The best way to measure bodyfat is using calipers. Lol.

If you're skinny around the chest - start going to the gym. Do calisthenics : pizzaboy or darklighter can probably (definitely ?) guide you to making some muscles.
