how long is that spacebar?
it's winkey one side, winkeyless one side?
those modifiers size?
I kinda dig that layout too, like a HHKB Pro2 with arrow keys...
but the spacebar? is that standard 7x or 6.2x?
or is it unorthodox size?
*
I calculated it as 6.25x
Probably offset to the right with the weird stem layout.

Honestly with Leopolds, I am happy to just put blanks on them.
Especially for alien layouts like this. Nobody gonna dare touch it.

you guys still can get leopold via me. just that i don't do mass import anymore due to competitor. think of it as getting it as hobby.

well.. i do have to agree with some user over here. the spacebar is indeed quite annoying because personally myself, i collected quite a number of keycaps sets. but unable to use the spacebar is kinda a "pain in the ass" to me.

hope the FC660M to be programmable so i can change the "Insert" key to something useful. But not planning to get that. =/
*
Y u no say early? LOL
FC700R can?? tongue.gif

Gonna be a bit of a hassle with the FC600. Desoldering needed to do the stabilizer mod.
At that point, might as well lube it since they are all desoldered.

That keyboard with a programmable 2 keys on the top right might be perfect, but it looks like they didn't leave a lot of space underneath the PCB for modding.

Oh well, you always have KeyTweak software.

I asked someone at Deskthority to assembled for me. Will had to pay him fee and shipping to me.

Also, there is a lot of disscussion now at Geekhack on the key layout, key layering, remaping, software UI for remaping. Very interesting discussion to make Ergodox to have a user customise key layout.

For me, I will remap as close to my Kinesis layout and maybe add Mouse key on 2nd layer so that I can move the mouse using keyboard without actually move my mouse.  rclxub.gif

How much are you being charged for this?
I wonder is it better to invest in a good solder station if this is going to happen a lot?

Wow. USD350 for part, another USD35 for solder, then another USD50 for shipping bcoz this kb weight 5lbs alone. Shipping weight should be at least 6 lbs..
Too elitist for me  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Solder yourself, pretty easy.
Lubing and stickers is the troublesome part.

Can, FOC.
But no lube and not confirm look nice.(diodes). Can confirm working only. tongue.gif
Switches will make sure fit properly lah.

Honestly, you can do some practice with the phantom pcb or something and then do it on lz gh.
The eqipment to get started does not cost much.

Can help me do the LEDs as well kah?
*
Lz gh is backlit?

Very afraid to solder backlit since my existing equipment makes it very hard to desolder LEDs if i goes in the wrong way.

try use heatgun and suction tube for LED removal. much easier
*
Heatgun and through hole isn't fun.
Was thinking of getting a soldering gun with Vacuum, like a Hakko 808. But that thing ain't cheap.
Can buy a realforce already.

*
Can post a picture of the modifiers of your RK9100?
From the pictures that I can find over the net, it seems to be just the same as the RK9000, or am I wrong?

QUOTE(wyh @ Jan 31 2013, 02:43 PM)
Lol, i like tactile feeling that is why die die i blue switch lover. But when you try brown its like a lil or no tactile and then not as good as red . so its like 50:50 which does not make up well for me lol, Just my opinion la. Anyway go try brown switch and let me know your opinion (:
*
You need to try Ergo Clears/ Clears 62g, Clears 65g.
That's what I thought when i tried browns.

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jan 31 2013, 03:18 PM)
Who likes black here btw ?
Seems black is the least favour among here.
*
Blacks are bad lol, sometimes can feel the scratchyness of the black switch.
That is due to the spring scratching the stem.
While being the least favourite among here, it is one of the smoothest switches if the vintage blacks are used.

linear switches are smooth yes. But, i would hardly call it butter smooth. Especially when you can feel you can feel something scratchy inside.

really nice keyboard there.

I see some other owner said once you own KMAC,
you can throw/put aside other brand already like Filco is it like that ? laugh.gif
*
Not sure about others. I still use my Filco and Cherry boards.

QUOTE(melvintcs @ Feb 3 2013, 01:28 PM)
y they remove the winkey? it's quite useful at windows OS.
*
That is one of the config. SOme board like KMAC 2 you can use winkey version, but i like the clean look of the winkeyless board.

I remapped the alt key to windows. Not gonna loose the winkey even with this layout.

What's the difference and special of KMAC?
*
Basically the thing that appeal to me is the custom CNC milled Aluminum.

Other than that, the switches are custom Clears + 62g, and lubed. Feels very very smooth even for a very tactile switch that is the clears. Also, you can get the custom layout to fit the Cherry Double shot keys.

Ducky Zero 2108 - Ducky's Entry Level Board Cherry Stabilizer

Previously I said Cyntrix probably won't be bringing it in, but well I'm reconsidering it. The board uses cherry stabilizer just like Leopold. There's much slimmer chance for squeaking long keys. The current SRP is RM 249. RM 50 less than the Costar RK9000. Caps are laser engraved ABS with UV coating. Someone please do me a favor to verify tha all the caps are compatible with standard cherry keycaps. biggrin.gif
*
Leopold FC200R had squeaky keys issues, fyi.
Do look it up at Geekhack.

But never heard of Ducks that squeak. They quack tongue.gif
