QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Jan 31 2013, 04:49 PM) ROSEWILL RK9000 REVIEW OPPORTUNITY We're hoping to gather some senior members in reviewing the RK9000. It's probably nothing new for you folks but many have no idea what exactly and why exactly this keyboard rocks. We are going to start with a campaign for some selected members to review the keyboards. Once the reviews are submitted, you have to pass the keyboard to the next person. At the end of the day, we will do a random pick (using "the hat") and one of the reviewers will be able to keep the keyboard free of charge. We are considering sending all keyboards in for review - MX RED, MX BLUE, MX BLACK (MX BROWN not available until Late February) Whoever wants in. Quote and add your name here and we will contact you for more details 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. PS: Everybody who reviewed professionally will be given a small gift as a small gesture of appreciation Nice opportunity to grab a free keyboard, anyway recently not so free to do review (as my English standard is not so good, a bombarstic review take me YEARS to finish ==)

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jan 31 2013, 08:14 PM) Typing from my ducky 9087 g2 pro pbt now (blue switch). Need to get use to bumps and the clicky sounds. Just wondering some keys click loud some are less noisy When I got my first mx blue switches keyboard I quite enjoy the clicky sound and the tactile feel. After some I switch back to MX red or MX black the silence is just nice.

Any suggestion for pure typing purpose?
preference: tenkeyless (speed typing for documentation purpose using lappy) I like blank keycaps (pbt or abs priotized)

QUOTE(Ireferno @ Feb 1 2013, 03:24 PM) I recall reading somewhere that toilet seats are the cleanest part of one's house. Keyboards are ment to be dirty, especially if you eat in front of it and smoke too... On a side note, heavyarm's Rosewill promotion has ended! Now I can sell my keyboard for more! That's why I think take out all the key caps and rinse them into water with soap to wash is best way. Otherwise always can feel the oil and grease.

QUOTE(Neux Gabux @ Feb 1 2013, 07:40 PM) hi sifu i want to ask. what is the best mechanical for me (and of course cheap). i use it for typing document and light gaming. Most people said mx blue switch is best for typing but I guess that's just most people's preference. I actually tried typing speed test on all three blue, black and red, indeed highest wpm while using MX red and I personally don't really like tactile of blue.

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Feb 1 2013, 10:34 PM) Yup, red will be the fastest as you can glide through the keys like playing a Piano. The problem though is that you may have higher margin of error. At least I do and seems like most people also do. I'm not a pro typist. I ain't super typist also. Average wpm +-90. As I mention, MX red just my preference. For me, using either MX red or blue doesn't really affect typo error frequency.

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Feb 2 2013, 02:50 AM) linear switches are smooth yes. But, i would hardly call it butter smooth. Especially when you can feel you can feel something scratchy inside. Agree, from my experience although red is lighter than black, but I feel black's press is much smoother than red. I don't feel the 'scratchy' in black but in red. Any, I not sure that just coincident or is like that.

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Feb 3 2013, 10:14 PM) Basically the thing that appeal to me is the custom CNC milled Aluminum. Other than that, the switches are custom Clears + 62g, and lubed. Feels very very smooth even for a very tactile switch that is the clears. Also, you can get the custom layout to fit the Cherry Double shot keys. Is something customized and smooth clear switch, no wonder it cost a bomb! Anyway, the 62g sounds not so pleasure to me.

QUOTE(wyh @ Feb 4 2013, 10:22 AM) why so fussy about the extra 5 inches of numpad =\ straight the the Rk9000. I guess people who have limited work space and don't need the numpad rather keep a version of better mobility.

QUOTE(storm88 @ Feb 4 2013, 11:32 AM) there are many people who have small table, also tkl keyboard has shorter range between mouse and keyboard. Gamers basically will tend to get a TKL more lol, think about Razer orbweaver. Shortest range between alphabet and mouse. On the fly switch profile make it become a numpad ==

Then is very luck dependent. Although myself heard a lot of complaint about razer but didn't encounter any problems and product yet. QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Feb 5 2013, 11:05 AM) It's really simple. For example, Costar manufactures keyboard. Filco ordered 2000 with so and so configuration Cooler Master then comes in order few thousand with so and so configuration Rosewill comes in and order another few thousand of the boards with certain configuration. At the end of the day, who has larger quantity would have better pricing. There's also material cost but usually for big quantities like few thousands, they don't matter much. Remember who owns Rosewill. That's why we can offer 1:1 exchange for all products from Rosewill. They don't manufacture their own, so the brand and service is really just up to the company. This is similar in GPU industry. Reference card comes out of Nvidia's factory. Different companies label them. Repack, and sell with different brand premium. It's the same card. This only applicable the processing unit, the card itself, build in what type of architechure, performance will be depend on the brand that manufacture and design. They only use the processing unit from Nvidia but basically else parts from different manufacturer will be different.
