What switch do you guys recommend for a balance between typing and gaming? Cherry MX Red or Brown? Both seemed to be quite on par with one another after looking around.

err.... again this type of question where the answer is dependent on the user preferences????  doh.gif  doh.gif
i think you need to seriously test them out and imagined your long term usage with them, some can game and type on MX blue, which you never put into your consideration, or sometimes people likes game with this switch, but type on that switch.... so this is totally an "answerless" question to be honest....  sweat.gif

If only I could...

Guess I've to look further for more feedback on such question.

Signature plastics in the US does custom stuff. But it doesn't come cheap as you can see in these prices which are pretty much a very accurate estimate. IMO better than ducky keycaps cos these are double shots.
I'd say brown. Reds are really soft and it's quite 'boring' for me to type on it. Blues has the tactile feel and clicky sound, what you get from browns are just the tactile feel when your fingers press down on a key. Hence, best of both worlds. Then again, it's down to everyone's own personal preference. Like Mr.Cyntrix hates Browns and loves Reds.

I've seen such comments whilst doing the comparison. And I would definitely appreciate some tactile feedback when pressing on a key.

So I'll go for the Brown one then. Thanks for your input!

Depends on yr preferences. Most people will say Typing+Gaming = Brown switch but i tried brown, I'm not satisfied totally. Blue is the best for typing coz i do my typist most, and red is the best after blue no matter what lol. Black like so so feel only...
*
Mind explaining why? You don't fancy the tactile feedback when the key is pressed?

Lol, i like tactile feeling that is why die die i blue switch lover. But when you try brown its like a lil or no tactile and then not as good as red . so its like 50:50 which does not make up well for me lol, Just my opinion la. Anyway go try brown switch and let me know your opinion (:

Wow how do you get it greasy? McD much? brows.gif there was once I really loved Logitech keyboards. It was when they started integrating all the keys into the top chassis. You never lose any keys when disassembling it to wash. The concept is still good but membrane is really hard to go back to.

I've been owning a G15V2 and that's the reason why I'm switching to mechanical.

Both of the D key and Space bar are somewhat stuck as the membranes were torn over excessive usage, so each time when I apply a slight pressure to them, they depress. Really tiresome when I'm typing and noticed a large space between words as my thumb often rests on the Space bar.
