Some people don't like the texture of PBT on their first use. But after you figured that your keyboard looks "pristine" after months of usage, you won't go back.

PBT still can shine la tongue.gif
It just take longer to happen.

those are NIQMODS keycaps right?
i was wondering why NIQMODS said those keys are eligible for 2 times RMA.... are those keys just for decoration and cannot be used? or it doesnt stand the normal usage rubbings??? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Thinking of getting a red switch when I get back to KL. Been doing some research and I like Vortex's 75% Race although I'm also considering QFRs and Filco's MJ2.

Can any owners shed some of their experience with said keyboards?

Much appreciated, thanks!

I have a QFR red switch,it is a very solid and nice board. It should have the best quality:price ratio among your choices.

gotta try it to know the feel of the layout and the difference in switch mounting. race might feel kinda light because of the absence of a backplate as opposed to the qfr and it has a kinda of a different sound as well, i own both red switches, typing this on the qfr tongue.gif tho you wanna buy a set of pbt for the qfr because the stock abs is honestly crap.

Yeah, that's what I read on GH tongue.gif UK prices are dumb. Might buy from Kai and get it shipped for far less than what I pay here in UK. I think they go for RM600 on Amazon due to our dumb 20% VAT.

That and I asked heavyarm about his QFR and they're the older batch with the god awful branding. doh.gif Also there's that soldering issue I read about on reddit. mmm.

Has anyone here debated over getting a red switch vs a brown switch before? I can't make up my mind. lol

Please don't ask me to get both. That's not an option. tongue.gif

Also, what happens when you add o-rings to the kb? As in what effect?

general preferences : red
o-ring dampens presses and so reduces the sound too

so in other words, if I use o-tings on a red, the bottoming out sound will be dampened?

Yes, but that alters the typing feel too. Some people (like me) don't like the feeling, and rather live with the clacking sound. Well actually I find the clacking sound quite satisfying tongue.gif

IMO, no harm trying, but it is best u personally test the switches first before buying as the type of switches depends on personal preferences. I personally prefer black or brown and a no no to blue smile.gif

i have tried and i like it.. just want to know in term of quality?? izzit good??
