You can flash to dd-wrt by reading "If Unable To Flash or Hit Problem ...." part from http://klseet.com/index.php/dir-615-g1/dir...1-flash-process

The best is you try it out both of them and feel the different. Today is public holiday because of Hari Wilayah and now I got some spare time to test them out. Below is Maxis FTTH with DIR-615 G2 (Default modem for UniFi) with DD-WRT

Will edit this post with OpenWRT later. Tq

ok so i followed http://klseet.com and tried openwrt it looks too advance and complicating for me and after restarting it with the new saved settings it bricks the router so i decided to go with ddwrt which I'm more familiar with, so far it's looking good biggrin.gif

Is this thread alive? Been eye-ing to use the ddwrt since the stock firmware does not have the feature I wanted like trigger port and QoS.

But, my main concern is that if I am able to setup my vlan for my hyptv to work properly.

Hey guys,

Here's what I did to flash my DIR-615 Rev.G2 to use DD-WRT firmware. I initially tried to flash my E1200 (from TIME) to DD-WRT but bricked it so I tried to use the Unifi router as a sub. Unfortunately with the Dlink firmware the router is useless as it's coded to only work for Unifi.

That's when I did some searching and noticed pisanq could use his DIR-615 (unifi edition) on Maxis FTTH on DD-WRT firmware. Since there isn't a guide anywhere I had to do some googling and found out that revision G2 uses the same chipset as revision Dx. Figured it would be much safer to try on the DIR-615 since it has an emergency recovery function to flash the firmware which means I can recover from bricking it easily.

First off you'll need to download 2 files here and here. Save them onto your desktop or in a folder for easy searching later.

Next just head over to the Dlink forum at this link and scroll down to heading "How do I install DD-WRT". You will need to use the emergency recovery function to flash the file with the word "factory" in it's title. Once that is done and you are able to connect to the web UI, you will then need to use the web UI's firmware upgrade function to flash the 2nd file.

Good luck and have fun with your new settings!

cheers.

To everyone who wants to use DD-WRT on your UniFi supplied DIR-615, remember this:
IPTV doesn't work on DD-WRT.

If you want both UniFi & IPTV to work, you can only use OpenWrt.

Already sold my DIR-615 months ago.
If you want a stable firmware, go for Attitude Adjustment 12.09.
If you want the latest firmware, go for Barrier Breaker.
