nice..btw..can nexus 4 and gnex share the same nfc tag?
*
For nexus 4, can only use NTAG203 model as it uses latest chip. For gnex, it can use both Mifare1k and NTAG203.

FYI, NTAG203 is the latest chip with faster data transfer performance.

Which one of the 2 can be read by most phone (S3, N4, Gnex)?
The one with the smaller capacity, how many char text can you put in?

Does it also mean that anyone with a NFC device can reprogram your NFC tag?
*
Except for the new nexus 4 and nexus 7, all smartphones can read both models of nfc tag.

For nexus 4 and 7,they can only detect NTAG203 model.

About the text, it will be around 135 characters if you use the smaller capacity model.

For the NFC tag programming, yes, you are right. FYI, you just need to install app. It will be much easier if you use android nfc-enabled smartphone. I suggest you to install NFC Task Launcher or TagWriter From google play to have a look on how easy it is to program nfc tag.

What can I do with greater memory size?I use nexus 7.so I should buy the latest chip right? but it has less memory size.hmmm
*
Basically, with greater memory, you can do more things with the nfc tags. By programming your nfc tag to send sms and make phone call, it will consume more memory if you compare to simple set up like turning off/on bluetooth, wifi and etc.

Maybe you can install NFC Task Launcher first from Google Play. The app allows you to see how much is the memory consumption for every configuration you want to set up.

You can also experience how easy it is to program nfc tags with the app.

Here is my configuration for the nfc tag which I put in my car...

If call and sms...

For note: my sms message is only 'DEMO'. The longer your sms, the higher memory consumption it will use.

darn it..i must be blind. I still can't see where is the place that shows which tag cost how much.

You posted 2 tags available for sale. But your pricing only show as below:
Price:
1 piece: RM7.00
3 pieces: RM17.00 (You save RM4.00)
5 pieces: RM27.00 (You save RM8.00)
10 pieces: RM52.00 (You save RM18.00)
50 pieces: RM260.00 (You save RM90.00 and free shipping)
100 pieces: RM 450.00 (You save RM250.00 and free shipping)

That price did not say it's for model  Mifare 1K or NTAG203.
*
Both models will cost you the same. wink.gif

Sorry bro, I have the N4 and N7.... why a NEW phone/device cannot read the older Tag. Shouldnt a new NFC reader be able to read and be compatible with older device....
*
Unfortunately, starting from Nexus 7 and 4, Google now uses new NFC controller in your smartphone. That's why in cannot support the MiFare chip.

What is the difference with NTAG293?

My apology as there is no such thing is NTAG293. There is only NTAG203 and the specification is as what I put in the first post. I have edited the first post to amend the mistake that I did. sweat.gif

bro can the NTAG203 store enough data for the app that you in your youtube (NFC Task Launcher)?
*
The NTAG203 can only be used up to 137bytes. So, if it is more than that, it will not able to store the entire configurations which you've set up.

Bought a few NFC tags last Thursday. Works perfectly with my nexus4. Response to the NFC launcher about 2-3cm from tag w the case on. Only detect when in active mode not sleep mode. Try set 2 tasks on 1 tag. It works like an on/off switch, provided u not set too much tasks due to storage. Else u might require separate 1 for on and off. Overall, its a good feature to save some time for lazy ppl like me tongue.gif

Thank you Crownter for the testimonial. Hope you enjoy using the NFC tags! thumbup.gif

Got my tags yesterday.  Using NFC Task Launcher to program the tag.

Like the Switch Tag feature, 1 Tag with 2 different tasks.  Example meeting & office profiles.  Just touch it when you enter the meeting room (silent mode) and touch it again when you finished the meeting (normal mode).  However, this requires 2x storage spaces.  Suggest to take MiFare 1k tag if compatible with your smartphone.

Next challenge is to find a suitable spot to stick the tag.  For office use, I stick it on my Employee Card ID.  For car use, I stick it inside my car glove compartment (becomes invisible tag, ha ha).

Thank you for buying NFC Tags from Tap Tap. Hope you enjoy the tags! thumbup.gif
