no bain marie, no bouquet garni, no confit ...WTF mang ..

all looks nice and tasty when in real world, the moment you step at their place to buy such delicacies, you will be welcome with unpleasant smells that will kill your appetite instantly.

plus they just look nice, but taste just normal.

three weeks in US, a week in UK and few oversea trip around Asia makes me come into conclusion that Malaysia is WORLD FOOD HEAVEN.

boring is not the right word to describe the uniqueness of Malaysian food.

i really dont want any of malaysian food to be internationally recognize, so that it will stays local, with original taste keep intact and most importantly the price will stay cheap (referring to street food)

a man's meat is another man's poison.

you are saying that ours are boring especially "meleis". by "meleis" you mean malays?

i dont know exactly why ours are boring, just because we dont follow the so called innovation of the french when at the end they put the price of a snail to 1k usd.

well at least we are not that cruel to do such thing as this

in the name of innovation and improvement.

while eating snail is normal, and foir gras is damn gooding, malay cuisine is consider as boring. thats a good way to describe malaysian food.

as for me, any malaysian food is unique, simply because you wont get it elsewhere, it is still relatively cheap and surprisingly delicious and it dont involve the torture of another living just to have a good taste.

good for them, although i believe they should spend more research into other things thats need much more attention.

im not saying research about how to cook or what to cook is not good, but it is just too much.

sometimes there are things best left untouched. such as food, for example. if by evolution you mean by eating snail and torture duck just to eat some fancy fatty, then i'll pass.

i dont deny about discovery, or evolution or whatever words that you use to decorate the french cuisine and put it up on the pedestal, but i certainly disagree if anyone describe malaysian food as boring.

one thing for sure, asam laksa is a fine example of malaysian cuisine that not only taste unique and different but has been named as the 7th most delicious food in the world. i am pretty sure with such recognition, it wont extinct anytime soon.

well it still make into the list, and top ten, shows that it does have exquisite taste of its own

if it its boring i am sure it wont be on that list. and best of all it dont need any bombastic words or rocket science to prepare assam laksa. just the right ingredients and bam right into the world's top ten most delicious food, isn't that genius?

we dont actually need rocket science for everything. food for example, sometimes even the simplest and cheapest food can bring joy and happiness. why do we need to stress out ourself by pushing ourself through complex process for a simple thing?

just leave rocket science for rocket. and that quote of yours, doesnt suit here. it is not about what we have or possession, but this is about variety of food that spread all across the globe and to simply justfiy one as boring is not a fair judgement to the food itself.

and dont judge me. i never for once judge you in anyway.
