a burnt fuse indicates broken connection

it shouldn't be too hard if it is glass tube fuse
if it is some ceramic tube then i'd suggest a multimeter or some battery, lightbulb and wire test

it's best to troubleshoot that first to see if the fuse manage to protect your speaker or not

Have you checked if your 3.5mm plug is connected when the buzzing sound happen?
Does the 3.5mm plug connect to any output source that has powered on?

Have you checked inside the power plug to see if there's any loosen screws?
Or is it a sealed 2-pin plug?
Are you able to change the power plug in anyway (without modifying the wire of course)?
To check if that's the power source problem. Or maybe change to another power socket around the house to see if the same problem occur?

Can you still able to listen to low volume audio when the buzzing happen?
Audio with noisy background, etc?

My louzy speaker does has the pop and boom whenever I switch on or off, quite annoying but I guess it's the power coil (cheapo one) problem. sweat.gif

Few ways you can test it, yes you can plug it into your Pioneer home theater amp but bring up the volume slowly and see if the speakers work, don't blast it.

A fairly common way is with a 9V battery but I think even a 1.5V AA battery is sufficient. Connect the +ve cable to the +ve battery terminal and -ve to -ve terminal and you should hear a small crackling sound from the speaker. This is the common way to test a speaker but it doesn't tell you much other than your speaker's voice coil is still intact and not blown.

Anyway, good luck, try option one with the Pioneer. smile.gif

That must be a cowboy fix, you may contact Mr.Edifier for professional service, cost will be higher but should worth it since the speaker wasn't cheap.

I email to Mr.Edifier and Edifier HQ,they told me too expensive to repair it,not worth the buck. I sent it to my local shop there and cost me RM60 but don't know why, buzzing sound appeared after repaired.

It is hard to fix it yourself when you don't have much knowledge on electronics and tools. There are many possibilities that will cause buzzing sound such as some component are faulty and didn't replace, circuits were shorted from poor soldering skills, etc.

Maybe you can seek for another well known good electronics repair shop.
