Read the latest 'Electronic Gaming Monthly' this morning while doing my business and saw the iGame! From what I read, Apple is set on releasing it late this year. Look out for the Official Announcements this May at E3! (fingers crossed) It's said to also be a fully functional iPod but no news on how big the HDD is gonna be. Also, we might be seeing another category within iTunes... which would be games aside from the current music, tv series and movies. thumbup.gif

Looks very promising, but still the big question still remains. Is it going to succeed?

Only time will tell, but again fingers crossed for this.

If it's true I doubt apple will get it right first time round... has anyone ever tried looking for apple games outside of an apple store? and that's why my i-mac is covered in dust

edit:

Here's an unofficial list of licensed games our sources say should be available for iGame when it launches this winter. No word yet on iGame-original titles. Expect those to be announced this May and throughout the year.
. Call of Duty 3
. Casino Royale
. Madden NFL 07
. Splinter Cell Essentials 2
. Tak and the Power of JuJu on the Go
. WarCraft Armies
. Final fantasy II
. X-Men 3
alot of those games counterparts where/are very big, sounds like some fanboy's wet dream. also some of those games would have to be pretty graphically advance to pull off well (call of duty 3, splinter cell) yet I see Final fantasy II, an 8 bit game (I think), unless it's a new game, in which case why is it named II and not just FF:(insert cool name)

hmmm.. battle of the handheld gaming devices?

Let's see... we've got Nintendo, Sony, Nokia, (what was that one called? I forgot... Pocket something?), Sega, possibly Microsoft and now, maybe Apple... the market will surely be saturated.

(if your asking bout the nokia one,its Ngage.

i dont think it will be that bad...

if you look at the companies, only (at this moment in time) Nintendo and Sony are surviving...

Nokia kicked the can with the original ngage(take out battery to change game??? shakehead.gif doh.gif )
Sega is long gone already..
and microsoft...well,i havent heard them release any plans as of yet..

besides, competition is ultimately better for us consumers smile.gif wink.gif

Nokia die already. No more support for the gaming handheld. SEGA is long dead and gone.

So there's only really 2 real competitors currently, Nintendo and SONY. I see MS has potential, since they already have a library of XBOX games which probably can be easily ported over to a new powerful handheld.

Apple...i don't think of them seriously unless there's concrete news about them.
