Most likely flooded car.
Coz if put outside won't rust like that even inside engine cover.
Check the carpet beneath whether have rust & dirt.

Come on guys, you guys really think putting under hot sun for 3 years can even do something like that?
Most of the metal part has been treated with primer & paint, surface has extra gloss finishing. If it's not exposed to stuffs like salt & seawater unlikely become like this. Unless you say it's parked at the docks for 5 years. QUOTE(izutaisa @ Jan 19 2013, 05:23 PM) |

By Sea would take around 1 month from Japan to Malaysia.
TS check the carpet underneath will show you whether it's flooded car or not. Sometimes it's not Local Honda cheating, it's the dealers from Japan cheating. Not sure local dealers take orders from Honda Japan or some distributor. QUOTE(z928328 @ Jan 19 2013, 05:25 PM) |

doesn't mean it can't be flooded.
if just 1 or 2 parts rusted maybe normal, but most part shown in picture are all over the car. maybe TS car kena salvaged so take all the bad parts. Batteries, dunno how TS can deal with it. Even replace new car they can still give used batteries. QUOTE(stinger82 @ Jan 19 2013, 05:30 PM) |

I don't think Japan law allow sales of flooded car like this. Especially exporting.
At least the ABS module would require to be replaced for safety regulations. QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Jan 19 2013, 05:33 PM) or jap don't cheat and tell them everything + huge discount, local distributor sell it at ori prices, hope that some buyer don't see it ... sales man have nothing to do with this, they just get the car (assign by management), only mistake the sales man do is din't inspect the car (or he keep quiet) ..... |
