someone already did this and he connected the fans through the USB port if im not mistaken....so the fans will be running at 5v.... it was quite some time ago and im pretty sure the thread has been deleted from this section... but can try and have a search..

So easy lar. Just go supermarket n buy the cheap multi voltage adapter. The rm15 type that can adjust voltage from 3V-12V type. Then just set it at 12V n volia u haf a nice cheap 12V supply for the fans. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

set it at 9V coz it's unregulated adaptor, usually 12V would give around 15-16V.

i saw some thread modding a laptop cooler using acrylic. it was nicely done as the acrylic sheets were nicely cut with designs and equiped with blue LED fans. the nice blink blink makes it look cool. however i hate the mod as its running on usb.. kinda strains the laptop.

Hahaha. OCed fans. Good 1. The burning LEDS makes me real mad.gif too. I haf 4 CM LED fans n 3/4 of the LEDs r dead on each fan. Bugger, those fans r only bout 2-3 months usage n they were only plugged into my mobo. They must haf had a really bad batch coz I bought those fans at the same time.

Yeah, I've been wanting to do an acrylic laptop cooler for myself too but just havent had the time to do it. I'm currently using a CM Coolpad n it lacks the bling bling. I'll most likely use red LEDs instead of my fav blue this time so that the red matches my laptop. Will write up a how to when I get down to doing it.

sometime is not the money problem...

RM 40 for a laptop cooler... not worth at all... sometime we spend money.. we must think that isnt worth for that value..
i use 40 bucks to get a cooler with 2 unit 5V fan... air flow is slow

2 unit 12v unuse fan + 1 broken plastis case... better air flow...

Raise the back of the notebook a few 1-2 inches does wonders as there's sufficient airflow thru the bottom of the notebook.
