I'm a UNIFI user and the router provided by the TM is

, Wi-Fi LED keep on blinking. I guess everybody out there should know about this. So I decided to buy a new router, which is Aztech router WL557RT4.(It supports UNIFI)

I follow the instructions provided in the CD and from Google, nothing works.

Problems Encountered

1)Mobiles connected to Wi-Fi but cant access to Internet

2)The Router's Host(Personal Computer) cant even detect the Modem, showing exclamation mark on the small PC icon(Window 7 PC)

3) Should I use PPPoE, DHCP or static IP ?

4)Should I set up a new connection in my computer in Network Sharing there ?

5)Is it because I plug the cable in wrongly between my Modem and my Router? (If yes I might screenshot it and upload it here)

6)From the instructions, I have been told to press the WPS button to enable the Wi-Fi once I finish configuring, Nothing change. (I press it once only)

7)In the IP address 192.168.2.1, the connection status showing Connected to internet. but yet I still cant access to Internet.

8)What should I put in Internet Protocol Version 4 ? Obtain an IP adrress manually or use the following IP address. People please dont forget there are 2 parts. Up and down.

I had the same problem bro. But i manage to fix it. 1st hardware reset & software reset ur Riger (make sure the internet LED not lighting up after reset). Then connect ur router & modem. Goto to quick setup & select PPPoe, then key in ur username & p/word(dun forget the streamyx suffix at the back). Then goto network>WAN>choose Connect Automatically. Last step juz reboot ur router & ur good to go.

9)How do I get to Network>WAN>Connect automatically in Window 7 ??

Guys please help me, I have been trying this for 2 days, Internet is extremely important for me to Google information and

Ahh one more thing, my grammar is sucks, please find my grammar mistakes or any better way to describe the problem, I would appreciate it if you could.

UPDATE
1)Tried using PPPoE, still the same

2)Tried using Bridge Method (Couldn't downgrade my firmware to 7.05 to use Method 1 and can't setup PPPoE connection(Error 651), tried tons of solution to make it works, I failed. For method 2, I dont have those setups in my Manual Internet Connection Setup page

tm router sux i totally approve that
u mean wifi led right? "wifi button"? lol
and that wifi led blinking just mean that data is flowing through wifi, what is wrong with the blinking? LOL

1) .....
2) router's host? zzz
3) PPPoE
4) no, wtf
5) u r using a wan router not an adsl router? okay in this case u need to bridge ur modem adsl so that ur router can connect
6) u dun use wps button to setup wifi setting
7) that doesn't mean anything
8) u dun need to care about that, dhcp for BOTH ARE FINE
9) that is when u setup pppoe

after reading this whole thread, i found out that ts u seriously dunno anything
and wow idk how to describe u gave this this 1 kind of weird feeling ....
anyway good luck

From http://unifi.athena.my/custom_routers.php,

I couldn't use the bridge method because my firmware is 7.15 and I can't downgrade it to 7.05 because I cant setup PPPoE connection in Method 2.

What should I do now ???

You need your Unifi PPPoE Username & Password to do manual internet connection setup.
If you don't have those information, it's time to give TM a call.

You should use manual method if your router is capable of supporting Unifi.

I would suggest getting the initial internet connectivity done with the router/modem.

Connect to the LAN port and test the internet status, dont fiddle with the wireless as of yet.

Report back if that works.

Testing the internet status by opening browser and see if any of the webpage eg. google.com

PC/Laptop network port , connect normal LAN network cable to the router LAN port. Normally group of 4 ports, one special port normally indicated as WAN. Please refer to the userguide.

Hopefully the firmware you flashed the Aztech router works with UNIFI. IF yes, then go ahead reset the router and re-create those dialling setting eg. Username/Password according to the userguide.

Yes,

Since I dont know how to set up the router, so I decided to use back the Unifi's Router. The reason why I change it to Aztech router because I felt very laggy sometimes, disconnected frequently from games but not internet.

I had the same problem with the router WL889RT4, it was written
Getting IP from DHCP server
Internet: down
then i opened the webpage of manufacturer, downloaded new firmware
Attached File  WL889RT4_Streamyx_Router.zip ( 1.9mb ) Number of downloads: 253

then extracted and via menu i upgraded the firmware and new options appeared in it. I made DISABLED the option of VLAN and internet began to work. When it was ticked to enabled the problem remained. I don't know what is the reason, anyhow now it works properly
