Yes..same specs except Note 10.1 is bigger size..bigger battery but no homebutton like Note 8.0

I haven't own a Note 10.1 but I have tab 10.1. Why I prefer Note 8.0? Because it smaller, has notebook or diary size and lighter.
Btw, to highlight some of Note 8.0 if compare to 10.1:
Higher dpi (189 vs 149)
Higher cpu speed (1.6 Mhz vs 1.4 Mhz)
Lighter (338g vs 600g)

But overall, both have the same spec. It all down to which size you prefer.

I'm migrating from note 10.1 to note 8.why? Note 8 handy...more practical for me...
Even the spec are similar, I think note 8 more smooth...

i feel the same..i played with note 10 before..not really satisfied with its smoothness too ..note 8 is so much better... and handy

well i guess i'm poison enough to decide on note 8.0..going to be looking around for best offer....gone this month pay,hahaha

I was using tab 7.7, now been using the note 8 for a week. No regrets. It really is an upgrade from the tab. Only problem now is that i wanna sell off my tab but no buyers. :-P

If you are too used to AMOLED screen, you might not like TFT.

Anybody can post a picture of this Note 8 inch in the backpocket of your pants?

IC...because last time I used Tab 7 inch, that one fit in my backpocket just nice. Thinking of ditching my Note 1 and use this as my main phone...

Tough to find. The Note width is 136 cm while most pants back pockets nett width is 125 to 130 cm
Even my baggy pants back pockets is only 129 cm wide
Tab 7 width is only 123 cm and can just fit in nicely to most back pockets

And after seeing the latest S4 full HD display, the Note 8 display pales greatly in comparison. It was so obvious comparing these 2

Hehe yeah I guess so. BTW now most of my pants is cargo type, so it might fit in. Thanks for the feedback though.

yes. 3G model support phone call as "normal" phone

Any recommendation for its cover? Planning to get the housing before getting the device.

Prefer:
1. Cover - hard type strong and durable
2. Mobility - easy to carry around
3. Style - not so sissy for a guy to carry in open sight
4. Camera friendly - Quick access
5. Visibility - camouflage not easily seen by pick pockets

Nice size but I do miss my nexus 10 now
