QUOTE(yweising @ Dec 11 2014, 04:04 PM) i'm not sure abt that cos i never try samsung OTA update QUOTE(waveweaver @ Dec 11 2014, 07:49 PM) Am root to remove bloatwarez and advs. Yes..TB can be use for the apps..but not the system data Most probably to KitKat but am not sure bout it. Maybe it just some new or latest Jellybean firmware first..follow by another KitKat firmware..LOL Safest way is to use Odin or MobileOdin and manually flash the latest Jellybean firmware. QUOTE(yoyoan @ Dec 12 2014, 07:56 PM) This I agree. I have grown accustomed to charging gadgets every night or every chance I get. what rom u guys using? I currently used 4.2.2 root.. now planning to unroot back and update OTA.. is there any of you guys who use latest rom and happy with it?

QUOTE(yweising @ Dec 19 2014, 09:17 AM) stick with jb rom. do not upgrade to official kitkat with bootloader, else u will regret to spend money on samsung with only 3hrs SOT. I plan to update to latest 4.2.2 is that ok? I bought 2 units of Note 8.0 and I'm selling it to my sisters.. so I need to make sure the devices work fine.. otherwise they will keep bugging me to fix this and that..haha

QUOTE(yweising @ Dec 22 2014, 08:54 AM) 4.2.2 is better. i hv try the disconnect battery for 1hr trick, now in the 3rd cycle of battery usage. looks like the SOT improve a bit. after I downloaded 4.2.2 firmware, approx 1.2gb file from Sammobile, then I realize my Note 8.0 already latest 4.2.2.. If I click auto-update OTA, directly go to Kitkat.. battery usage kinda good if I fully utilize usage between Note 8 & my mi3..

Now wanna re-flash back to 4.2.2, not sure battery consumption will resume normal or not. Btw, after flashed via Odin, now my knox warranty void bcome 1, cant reset anymore. But the girl told me warranty still not void yet (my note was bought on Feb 2014). lol You bought battery for Note8? may I know where do you bought from? Hi fellow Note 8 users, my sis' Note 8 face some "E:failed to mount /ef (invalid argument)" error. And I can't really recall how to fix this. I do have EFS backup, just the matter to restore it I got no idea where to start. Any help? Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(kizwan @ Aug 3 2015, 03:19 PM) I googled, reloading the stock firmware will fix the problem though. Read this:- http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-g...d-argument.htmlfew days trying to solve the issue, still working progress. No real solution.. kies seems to unable to download the stock firmware with some "the firmware is not available/unable to download" error.

QUOTE(ppfoong @ Aug 6 2015, 04:36 PM) So I've use Odin to flash stock 4.2 2 rom, still the problem of /efs persist (appear on stock Recovery menu). Now dowloading 4.4.2 wanna see how. The note 8.0 still got warranty till this Nov, should I just send to them to repair? Will they accept the unit as the counter already been counted?

QUOTE(tigerporc @ Aug 21 2015, 10:37 AM) If EFS just corrupted like that without anything being done, should be hardware/storage related failure already I think. Even if you had managed to fix the partition (recreate partition and remount), it would be temporary If it was under warranty, then should not have tried to fix it by flashing... as no way to reset the counter unless you managed to fully boot up and run TriangleAway... best thing now is to send for warranty claim and claim ignorance of counter... (ask your sis to blame brother loh if really get asked about the counter) Now I got 2 unit Note 8.0 which I sold to my sisters, which having same problem, begin with blinking screen, later on, bootloop at Samsung logo. Both are about to be sent to Samsung Service Centre. Idk if they manage to claim the warranty as 1 unit got counter, another no counter yet. Now I'm waiting for their feedback. I tried everything on net on how to fix the issue, and I can't really solve as, Idk what was really happeend to the Note 8.0 before the problem happened. I suspect Samsung tried to update firmware and both of my sis click "OK".
