b4 kit katstillcan enjoy 5-6hrs screen on time for heavy use. after kit kat,3hrs++ is the best even limit the highest cpu speed to 1k mhz. last hope is to try disconnect battery for 1 hr trick.  vmad.gif

Not all latest firmware good. Sometimes it worse than the old firmware..LOL. My Nexus KitKat 4.4.4 suck battery juice like no tomorrow and sometime it go stuttering without reason. It worse than KitKat 4.4.2.

Actually I prefer JellyBean more than KitKat. That's why am not updating my new Note 8.0 to KitKat. Leave it to Jellybean only smile.gif

cheap right? plus got zalora rm50 voucher, music download & lazada voucher too..
plus it's SME unit, not some AP imported unit..

Now idk if it is necessary to update the firmware, I afraid if upgrade directly to kitkat might ruin the performance.
*
Not necessary need update to KitKat. Am prefer Jellybean myself.

so you stick to Jellybean and root it? root for what?
U think will my mi3 Titanium Backup work on Note 8?
*
Am root to remove bloatwarez and advs.
Yes..TB can be use for the apps..but not the system data

bought from Lazada, the real price is RM929, got discount RM150.. turned out RM779
so if I update OTA, my note will directly be Kitkat? or may I choose to update to latest Jellybean firmware only?
*
Most probably to KitKat but am not sure bout it. Maybe it just some new or latest Jellybean firmware first..follow by another KitKat firmware..LOL

Safest way is to use Odin or MobileOdin and manually flash the latest Jellybean firmware.

How is your note perform? Battery good? Use any microsd card? I'm thinking to get 64gb microsd but Idk if it may cause lag or battery drain? Any idea? As per theory, bigger storage require more power to operate..
*
Am using 64GB sdcard. No lag or stutter so far.
Doesn't care much bout battery coz i charge it nightly.

Need advice...am going to buy n8 soon. Is it safe to buy from a normal shop/booth rather than buying it from online or trusted shop? Becoz I want to trade in my old tab2 to replace with this & only at normal shop/booth wanted to buy it.

Another q is, do n8 got AP version? Coz normally booth or small shop tend to sell cheaper than normal price by selling AP version (talking from experience)
*
As long as you get a new sealed box of SME set..it doesn't matter where you buy it. Try look around for cheaper price. Nowdays it cost from RM750 - RM850.

Am not sure whether got AP set here in M'sia. But to be safe, insist a set box that was sealed with those blue SME sticker.

Happy hunting thumbup.gif

Use wifi or 3g? Do you take out the plastic on the back? But right side cool.

should bring service centre?
*
Am using 3G and occasionally use WiFi. The tablet still have its plastic at the back.

Btw...how hot is it..? If only warm that it is normal. If really hot till you can't bear holding it then I suggest you give it a check at service centre.

What a bummer. My Note 8.0 cannot charge till it died. Sent to service centre to change the charger/usb port.
Then received call from them stating need to change the usb port AND motherboard. Cost around RM830..!!? blink.gif

I laughed and said that last time i bought the whole set brand new at RM850. Take back my Note 8.0 and now become paperweight. R.I.P
