Hello everyone.
My name is Stephanie.
I'm turning 22 on 31st January 2013.
My birthday wish this year is to raise RM2,200 for the children of Rumah KIDS.
Will you please support me to help the children?
The amount doesn't matter, every little bit helps. smile.gif
This is my charity campaign page. http://www.peoplegiving.org/campaign-page?campId=22
I'd also appreciate it if you can share my campaign to your friends.
Thank you and God bless. smile.gif

Hi Steph, with the exact amount you have set as your target, mind to share your planning for the campaign?
Is it a donation in cash for the charity house?
*
Hello hon!
Donations are made via credit card or online transfer. The total amount of money raised will be passed on to Rumah KIDS at the end of my campaign.
I've been asking for donations from family members. And also from friends through fb message.
Unfortunately not many are willing to donate, so I posted my campaign in lowyat forum hoping that the forumers here would help to donate or share out my campaign page link.
Afterall those money are for the children of Rumah KIDS, I just want to help create the awareness of the needs of the charity home. smile.gif

Suggestion: how about doing something for the fund raising instead of just asking for donations? I think people would be more willing to give in exchange for something, to show your sincerity. Or else most people will just think it's a scam for money.

E.g. sell your stuff and all proceeds go to your charity. Or donate your time, service, expertise etc in exchange for funds.

Hello Dagashi!
Thank you very much for your suggestion.
I'm doing this for the first time so I don't really know what's the best way to raise funds other than personally asking for donations.
I think I'll use your suggestion which is to sell some of my things to raise money. smile.gif
I'm afraid I won't be able to donate time now because I have classes to attend and tests to study in school. sad.gif
By the way, what I meant when I said I'm donating my birthday for charity is that I'll not be celebrating my birthday, which means no birthday cake, no birthday gifts etc.
I know it may seem like no big deal for most people, but I'm used to celebrating birthdays with friends and family for the past 21 years.
So I'm really hoping people would donate in return for that.
Anyway, thanks again for your suggestion! I'd definitely do that for my next birthday. biggrin.gif

you can snap the picture of stuff you wanna sell then upload them online..am quite sure you online almost everyday

why wait a year to do charity?
*
Hello chinyen!
You have misread what I wrote about having no time. I wasn't referring to the one about selling my stuff.

I do have plans of doing charity work constantly over the year.
What i meant in my previous post was annual fund raising. Therefore it has to be a year before i do it again.

Thank you so much for leaving so many comments.
But I'd really appreciate it if you can leave me words of encouragement instead of challenging me with questions. tongue.gif
Not many 22 yr olds would be willing to donate their birthdays for charity you know wink.gif

Thanks again! smile.gif

Good to hear that smile.gif

It is heartfelt to note that there are many Malaysians out there that are still considerate, and would work the extra mile for the needy.

Kudos!

Thank you once again!
Glad I was able to do something to help the less fortunate. smile.gif
