I bought my mom a Saga FL in 2011. She's been using it since for short trips to Masjid & Shops near our house. I sometimes 'curi2' use it too coz to me it's the 'small fun car' type. Handling wise is attainable, but the comfort level is on par with other protons (which is good enough for me!). Done few trips to Kuantan and managed to cruise at 150km/h most of the time (save for the hills). No regrets so far other than the fuel consumption (it's the normal 4AT, not CVT anyway..)

Seriously, with that price, it is value for money.. Where can you buy a brand new RM40k car that is reliable and big enough for weekend trips?

He's asking about a car with that amount of budget. You give him another option of riding a bike. So let him choose then. I'm not saying your suggestions are wrong. We are here just to help him decide, so don't really need to feel protective about our suggestions.
