wadafaq why drag me down water again shakehead.gif

Soza pretty much sums up the whole Saga experience.

As for the additional points robeng added, chapalang material is not just Saga, the same goes for Myvi, and the Dugong which is RM25k more expensive is not much better. Comfy? tell me one new car in that price bracket that is more comfortable than the Saga.

It is a sub RM50k car. What do you expect?

For that budget n loan period, I would strongly recommend that u:

1) keep ur money and use bike instead atm
2) have at least 30k saving then throw a big deposit for better car with d same 400/mth budget
3) work 2-3 years more than only buy a good car

Im not hate proton. Preve & Exora are good car n mpv. But for saga, it just wasting ur money. 100% i guarantee u will regret after own it. Car is not investment.
*
This is fepic. By your account, 100% Saga owners are regretting it right now. So much so they wish they bought a bike instead.

Oit. Some day I want to sit in your monster.

What monster? 1.6 NA, tebu pun tader, slow like turtle oni. unsure.gif

Anyway, why Proton bother with these new tech anyway. Waste time and money developing new drivetrain and powertrain for what? Chuck in a MIVEC and the ole faithful 4AT, save millions of development cost and with a protectionist NAP, they will sell like hotcakes. If their Sushi competitors can get away with a decade old engine with a Jurassic drivetrain, Proton can easily do the same and make even more money. Why la waste money buy Lotus?

Why spend money on incorporating CVT and Turbo? no one cares and no one appreciates anyway, Proton will always be Proton.

Seriously, why do they even bother to innovate? The 90s worked well for them.

let me recap u about TS Questions;
1) The Pro?
2) The Con?
3) Best Price?
4) Where to get?

So, where did he state about 40k? he only mentioned about 400/mth budget.

U can buy a better 80k car by throw a huge deposit and still maintain that 400/mth budget.

Most of u give The Pro but cannot accept The Con.

No wonder ppl look down to Saga owner.
*
Bro, who cannot accept the con? Soza already laid out what is good and what is bad which I agree. You, on the other hand, only focus on the bad and bordering on blind bashing. Have you ever owned a new Saga?? was you bad experience a result of being burned by the car? Was your initial assumption for the TS is that he was able to dump in a large amount of d/p?

I am a ex owner, so I know very well what the Saga is and what the Saga is not. Some times I hate Proton to the bone due to their aftersales, sometimes The car put a smile on my face. It's not the best car money can buy, but it is definitely better than riding a bike. If you hate Saga so much, you could've suggest a used car or a Perodua. Your suggestion to the TS to buy a bike instead of buying a cheap car, when he can afford one, is irresponsible at best.

Those above are my opinion and experience. My big family own Saga, Wira, Preve currently.
Not bashing blindly. Im working in DRB-Hicom Group, which of course deal with Proton day-to-day.
I almost buy Exora Bold last month but changed my mind to get Innova instead.  wink.gif

Is this enough to prove to u that im not hating Proton but Saga only?  sweat.gif
*
Very well then, at least by your account you have a basis for your hatred towards the car. I still don't agree with your suggestion of buying a bike rather than Saga, or any other cheap car.

Let me quote myself again:
Can't u see my point there?  doh.gif

I mean, if he can't afford to buy a better car than SAGA now, better keep his money by use bike instead at the moment.
I never mentioned any other cheap car. Dun spinning gasing la kawan.
If u asked me, if really i got 400/mth budget and really2 need a car (else i die), i will look for honda/toyota used car.
but since all of u said, NEW CAR WITH 40K BUDGET (even TS also never mentioned it), soi suggest use bike la.
Get it?
*
Who's spinning gasing? I'm commenting on what I understood, it seems many other have intepreted your comments the same way. If it was a misunderstanding then it's a misunderstanding.

Don't tell me I'm spinning gasing, ok kawan? It is insulting.

Can u show or quote my post that i suggest TS should buy a bike than OTHER CHEAP CAR than Saga?
Who others that understood the same like u? All Saga owners right. That just prove my statement that most of Saga owners share the same low mentality.
*
Hey, I already conceded that you are entitled to your opinion since you own a Saga, I was trying to be civil until you decided to accuse me of "spinning gasing". You don't wanna own up your mistake, that's fine by me. If resorting to insults is your way to defend yourself against people with "low mentality", good for you too.

Quote bolded for posterity.

This thread has outlived it's usefulness sleep.gif

TS, if you have doubts with FLX, buy a used car (I highly recommend old gen Vios, which may or may not be out of your budget) or a Myvi / Viva. There isn't much choices unless you dump in high amount of d/p. Just bear in mind you have to live with the car and it's problems, not us.

So at least buy a car that you like.

Mind to share what car and how much down payment boss? Serious inquiry, not interested with bashing and bashed topic. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Assuming 2.8% interest, as long as your loan amount does not exceed RM27k for 7 years, or RM34k for 9 years.

That means if you wanna buy a 80k car with a loan tenure of 7 years, your d/p must be RM53k or more for a monthly less than 400

Just my own opinion la on the married one, me just fresh grad of course saga perfect. You want bring 7 people in your saga suit yourself. I brought 3 people on mine and I felt uncomfortable since cabin is not that large.
*
No different than buying any sub-compact car lor eg. Dugong / City, or god forbid, a Ford Fiesta? None of them can carry 5 adults comfortably. At the very least, the Saga was designed for taxis.

If you want to carry 5 adults with no complains, you'll have to at least look at C-seg or even MPVs dy.

I never claimed that Saga is not fit for carrying 4-5 passengers at once, it's just my personal opinion and my own personal view of private space. So, I like it when I drive my Saga with just one passenger. That's about it.

I'm not bashing Saga because it's small and etc etc [insert typical bash materials on Saga here] because I love it's size. If I hate Saga then why the eff would I buy one?

And if you want to bring in 4, 5 or even 7 people in your Saga and you are not bothered by that, then that is absolutely, most excellently perfect in my book and I respect you for that. Saga can do that, it all depends on you, the driver.

K?

Seems like I only can decide when I compare all the spec line up. For now, I'm more interested with Saga FLX exec. BTW, what's the difference between FLX Exec and FLX CVT? Proton website are not car noob friendly. doh.gif
*
CVT is the gearbox, that means AUTO. The other option is MANUAL.

The FLX Executive and FLX Standard have both CVT (Auto) and Manual.

FLX SE only have CVT (Auto).

If want full spec + skirting might as well get 1.6SE lor. However, if want manual then no choice, only got 1.3. As for 1.3EXEC CVT, different with 1.6SE different only few thousand, but you get hellalotmore on the SE compare to 1.3EXEC. Power and FC wise wont be that much of different la anyway. So, if can afford, why not 1.6SE leh?
*
He dun like FLX SE's mia bodykit color la unsure.gif

diabolique BTW how much is FLX SE now? Last I check was near RM48k for the white color, if that's true then it's a good deal compared to FLX Exec. When I bought mine it was almost RM50k.

I don't hate Saga or Proton but I hate the color combination doh.gif . I want auto, enough with manual car. Kuching are getting crowded and smaller. Manual car good if I want to shape both my calf and my arse muscle. biggrin.gif I still don't know which one to take as the spec sheet at the website are difficult to compare side by side. I wonder if the white color have white skirting.

And there's another idea, buy a standard or upper class abit of Persona (almost similar to Saga 1.6), after few moment change to leather seat, custom skirting, better player and sound system and other common mod. Hmmm... Bingung. BTW, rear seat for Persona and Saga are same or Persona have spacier rear seat? Next week drive test but just want to ask. biggrin.gif
dares
Yup, totally hate it laugh.gif . For solid color OTR price (CVT):
FLX 1.3 STD: 44 134.00
FLX 1.3 EXEC: 47 554.00
FLX 1.6 SE: 52 056.00
Persona STD: 53 206.00

*East Malaysia price, from Proton website.

How to decide ah... Haha...
*
Of course Persona is more spacious and more comfortable (some owners say rear seat not as comfortable due to too upright...), it's also more stable, quieter and handles better.

Downside is, the current Persona only have 1 airbag and no ABS/EBD, no CVT (uses 4AT), foglamps, electric side mirrors etc...(FLX exec/SE has 2 airbags and all those things) So it's up to you to decide if you can do without these stuffs.
