hi guys. i remove my plastic deck cover in order to check where does the "tak tak tak" or tucking sound from rear boot come from. credit to ahaidir777 After removing it, i drove it to see whether the sound gone or not. Surprisingly, the sound still there and i conclude the sound come from the metal part near the boot area (probably somewhere around the speaker) and bcoz this time no plastic deck, the sound is far more obvious. it sound like metal parts are clashing each other. you know its metal if you hear it. it must have something to do with chasis or improper welding. Then i cannot do anything but bear with the annoying sound, if plastic then i can put some foam or cloth. very dissappoint how this can happen only after 14K km. Anyone from proton can rectify this? looks like only cose can rectify this. normal sc wouldn't solve this i guess. This post has been edited by sp3d2: Feb 16 2013, 04:42 PM

QUOTE(hilmiangah @ Feb 17 2013, 12:14 AM) open up the rear bonnet and see inside the roof of the boot there's 2 thin metal bar running from the left to the right notice how its overlapping each other? see if the 2 of it is making contact and ya the rear third brake light is known issue, removed the 'tak tak' sound after i dampen the brake light mounting, the metal bar in the boot and also the rear deckboard so yeah im not sure which part is responsible but its either 1 of the 3 Thanks. I already put cloth between metal bar. Its not touching each other. Rear deckboard I already removed and still got sound. Let me check the rear brakelight mounting. Have not open tat part yet

QUOTE(Jonesyming @ Feb 17 2013, 01:26 AM) Ya, I have the same problem like u.is it from the rear left ? I confirm it is the welding points and its the chasis sound. Its a manufacturing defect. I paste some soundproofing material on all over the chasis boot and managed to dampen the sound abit. Unless you wanna try to do welding outside. Thanks. Yes its coming from rear left. I want proton to settle this. Im not going to pay any cents bcoZ its not my problem I am sure tat tis is chasis Sound. Proton should have a recall on this.... hi guys. want to update. i solved my tucking sound problem that comes from rear side of the car. i did tried to put cloth between metal bars in the boot, check the rear brake light whether its tight or not; and dismantle the whole rear deck board to check where the sound comes from. I concluded that it is due to defective welding points. But after i sent it to proton edar Melaka, they found out that the sound comes from touching parts between car body and rear suspension. They have rectified it. Now im happy the problem solved. It feels like driving a new car again without those annoying sound! Thanks Proton edar Melaka service team. u have done a good job! Hope someone can put this at 1st page under common problems. Other preve user might have same problem as me. This post has been edited by sp3d2: Mar 4 2013, 10:07 PM

QUOTE(Jonesyming @ Mar 5 2013, 12:56 AM) Good for you, I had to do soundproof outside shop. What did they do to the welding joints ? Got a picture of the exact location of the defective joints ? its not because of welding joints. it is because there is touching part with suspension and car body. the moment they touch, tucking sound is produced. please check it out if you have not do so. QUOTE(CumP84 @ Mar 5 2013, 04:07 PM) I'm having the same problem too. What did u tell to Proton SC regarding this problem. Can you tell us what is the defect? I told them im having tucking sound coming from my rear left boot area. They conducted a check and found touching part between suspension and body. Just asked them to check it. Before that I asked them to drive my car and hear the tuckibg sound by themselves, so tat they will have idea which part is problematic.
