QUOTE(brandon9188 @ Jan 23 2013, 11:00 PM) hi all, please help i was get.my car today chasis number is 16xxx Not sure about the brake sound.i hv some problem that is.during i brake hv the bong bong bong and the brake paddel i can felt some nudge, next is i smell some bad burned smell after i b home...why???? New car with burnt smell after driving is usually normal, it's suppose to be some sealant or coating on the exhaust parts being evaporated. If the smell persists after 5k km, then consult any Proton SC to diagnose. |

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Feb 8 2013, 08:06 PM) The thing is its using the same old Campro.. I heard they've got the newer IAFM+ and ECU profiles but other than that its basically the same. Engine internals are the same as the FLX SE, which is slightly different than the old Campro (different camshaft, pistons and IAFM, IINM) but the block is the same. Don't forget you also get a better gearbox (Getrag) than the BLM MT.This post has been edited by dares: Feb 8 2013, 08:36 PM |

QUOTE(didot @ Feb 9 2013, 06:43 AM) Iafm & iafm+ is not same. Totally different. Iafm+ basically is cfe engine without turbo. Means you can add turbo anytime. Iafm & iafm+ has different engine build up. Difference in diamention, compression, if you really need all the details, you can call proton engineer directly. It is not good to ASSUME this and that. IAFM and IAFM+ has the same compression ratio (10:1) and displacement. CFE has a lower compression ratio (8.9:1) and slightly lower displacement (lower stroke), not to mention strengthened internals to withstand the higher output. You can't simply bolt on the BorgWarner turbo on the IAFM+ and call it a CFE. The engine block is the same, the internals are different. This post has been edited by dares: Feb 9 2013, 10:01 AM |

QUOTE(didot @ Feb 9 2013, 10:42 AM) I mean, cfe is build based on iafm+, not iafm. That is why iafm+ is different with iafm. Despite the compression ratio iafm n iafm+ is same, but it has different characteristic. Cheers. But doest matter, that is not what we cares, what we care is iafm+ should be better thn iafm. Im using cfe and I fully satisfied with the engine. My mom crv also not perform like cfe 1.6. Harap je vtec 2.0, tp lembap je. IAFM+ have different camshaft and different pistons compared to IAFM, mainly to accomodate the CVT, so you're right that characteristics are different |

QUOTE(Kinitos @ Feb 9 2013, 09:04 PM) Why Rio 1.4T in particular which is not sold here? There is a whole lineup of turbocharged small displacement engines being sold by VW, such as the 1.4 TSI. This post has been edited by dares: Feb 9 2013, 11:29 PM |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Feb 9 2013, 11:08 PM) preve turbo is just soft turbo, normally they go twincharged with supercharger, below 2k rpm is supercharger which is something like electric motor, after that is turbocharger using exhaust to push the turbine. Some VWs are only turbocharged, eg. the TSI.Supercharger is powered by the engine which starts boosting the moment you start your engine. |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Feb 9 2013, 11:31 PM) TSI is twin charged my fren. look at the diagram, supercharger and turbocharger that why 1.4L is comparable to 2.3L and less FC. http://www.greencarcongress.com/2005/08/inside_vws_new_.html Ah OK sorry I was thinking the Polo TSI, which is only 1.4 turbocharged.Anyway, GONG XI FATT CHAI to all Preveians |

QUOTE(muserella @ Feb 13 2013, 10:50 AM) What if we got 2 identical Prve CFE, driven by same guy, same method, same road conditions but 1 with CVT but the other 1 with DSG gearbox have a drag battle, who will win? Whichever reaches 2k RPM the soonest wins, so I think DSG....unless the DSG got sohigh gearing whereupon upshift the engine drops out of the boost range. |
