QUOTE(Pace @ Mar 27 2013, 12:36 PM) Speedworks got already for RM10k with piggyback. speedworks, already done a good job. But as i say, oem tuning compare to 3rd party tuning, still diff coz for oe tuners like r3, the must ensure its reliability coz the standard warranty still intact n many things need to adhere due to emmision control, even its euro 2 in malaysia. N if u ask speedworks, rather they meeting jpj euro 2 emmision on modded engine, i dunno whether they did it under euro 2 emmision control or not.So it seems, FI or NGV with NA heads will cause leaky stock valves and seals but the package does not include this. R3 should offer kits to match stock and race prep B16 (145/180whp) & B18 (160/220whp) About b16 n b18, isnt that honda's engines? I dun think even honda still using that engine in stock mod for their cars nowadays due to emmision regulation. Unless u r talking about not so new ivtec soch engine 1.5-1.8 n newest update on to meet euro 5 emmision in newer civic. As i say, u can bring old b16 @ b18 to track, but not on the road even in stock mode. I hope u understand the diff between oe tuners and 3rd party tuners whereby so many rules n regulations they need to adhere, not only for engine, but for safety aspects also need to meet. But 3rd party, dont need that. Anything coming out from manufacturer plants, must follow the rules. Unless u r buying car from proton, then go to r3 garage, jsut prepare the money, ask them to mode to stage 3. But even do it under r3, since its consider being moded outside coz u r buying standard car, but just mod it under r3 workshop, standard warranty is void, n thats when r3 no need to follow any rules n regulation to mode the car. By the way, r3 not only dyno tuning the engine using dyno machine only, they also dyno it on the roads and tracks n done reliability test in engine chamber and durability test on the roads and tracks. People may say its pricey to mode with r3 @ buying r3 cars, but if u taken into account the amount n money they spend on engineering n rnd n hnt, its worth the price. Compare to those that just slap in some mode components, link with laptop, using piggy back or new ecu, tune on dyno, one day job, finish tuning. For r3, some may take a year, some more than that. N many of them are engineers, not only technician. |

N if u ask speedworks, rather they meeting jpj euro 2 emmision on modded engine, i dunno whether they did it under euro 2 emmision control or not. Speedworks package using piggyback on OEM NA ECU. NA ECU ignition advance increases with rpm whereas Turbo ECU opposite. Understand that Campro ECU runs on close loop up to 90% Throttle position which makes using piggyback less effective and chances of detonation in the long run high. So of course if R3 car sold from Proton should be complete with Turbo ECU together with the supercharger/turbocharger, hardened valves and revised valve seals, crank and bearings as it comes from manufacturer with manufacturer's warranty than a tuning house like Speedworks. Of course these manufacturer's hot prepped cars should also meet emmission standards and hence there are also less powerful. Supercharger less efficient than Turbocharger and there is already a Turbocharged version around. R3 to develop a Supercharger version seems pointless. Unless they are doing a Supercharger Turbocharger configuration with a GB that is rated above 22Kg of torque.About b16 n b18, isnt that honda's engines? N many of them are engineers, not only technician. Would Proton's manufacturers warranty apply to owners who buy the R3 parts separately and get them installed? Does Toyota/Nissan manufacturers' warranty still hold if TRD/Nismo items are installed later in the car as compared than when it came installed in the cars? On the kits, I meant it would be good if R3, as the tuning house for Proton, offered kits to existing owners to upgrade their cars. These kits would grow grassroots motorsports for Proton where i.e. billet cams with increased lift are offered instead of reprofiled cams where there is no way to add material for increase lift which is where the real power comes from. B16/18 and even K20 now no longer meeting emission standards. The kits are to offer power kits to existing owners. Emission requirements are normally not a requirement for power kits. IVtec are not the engines we are going to rave about let alone give a 2nd look. |

QUOTE(Pace @ Mar 26 2013, 11:24 PM) Semi or fully doesn't matter. As long it ain't fake or reprocessed oil. Current mileage is 9.7k. The thing is, i did go to dealer service center, they said it's normal for the check engine, check oil & battery to remain lit up after 2nd press of start button. It will gone once engine started. If oil is going pass the piston rings and valve seals into the combustion chamber it should show in a quick dry then wet compression test but will mean a damn long service. Damn long. If turbine seal leak you could get it back the same day. Your total mileage? Can anyone confirm this? I was confirmed by heart that only handbrake light stay. |

To me it's better for DRB to push for better service and iron out all the existing issues rather than producing new model.====================== On the other note, Good Morning Fellow Preveians! Seeing that many of the old timer is still here. Good job! Been a while since caught up with work. Hope everybody's ok here. It's good to see bro mat79 still visit us here. Thanks bro! QUOTE(g_kw2 @ Mar 29 2013, 10:54 AM) Got a new PIC in DRB now that's handling the Proton issue named Muzakhir Bahari. U guys can email him directly at MUZAKHB@proton.com if you have any issues/dissatisfaction for their service. If he asked where you guys get his email, just inform him you guys from PREVOC. Sorry for not being able to do a collective voice until today. Might pass the position to those who's more capable than me after this.. |
