ok thanks.

But I am going back to hometown tomorrow night, so don't think will have time to go to SC. Is it dangerous to drive the car when there is the helicopter sound?
*
No problem, just keep a distance from car in front in case brake not makan. This is a common problem

maybe its not just you... i tried to emergency brake from 100 to 0 and it seriously even i slam the brake paddle i still feel that it is so soft... sometimes in emergency case maybe need to incorporate both engine braking and the disk brake

You might feel the braking power is lagging right? This is abs, all i can say is u feel the brake like not makan but it still able to stop your car faster than non abs brake system. The non abs system brake u feel very makan because it lock your wheel, u already bang something in front if u are using lousy tires. Try to press the pedal linearly so that u wont activate the abs, in this case u will feel the brake makan like non abs car. Tested by myself icon_rolleyes.gif

i will try to do the emergency brake,
last time i almost kiss a car, but luckily manage to stop in 'inch' time, car infront of me bang the other car...
but like you say, there is no 'ummph' in braking... or maybe i forgotten how hard i slam the brake..
i will take my time to test hows the emergency brake..

I have tested my sister Honda city and BMW e90 325 both with abs also but it give me the response that I wanted.tha main reason I choose preve is because of all the safety features but it seems that it not impress me at all, anyway will sent to sc change the other side of brake rotor. Hopefully it will give better response

I can consider preve is better then my mom's crv n my sister's swift! Both that japs car shake like hell, vibrate so hard when hard braking. I know that abs is working. But it feels like earthquake. In preve, abs working smoothly and silently, not shake like hell and even does't feels any vibration during hard braking.

i actually suspecting the right brake rotor giving me problem. It does improve the braking power after changing the left brake rotor and reduce the helicopter sound but still got some helicopter sound when try to brake from 80km/h and above. previous was when try to brake at 40km/h the sound was too loud.

now need to wait after cny only can sent to sc whistling.gif

Vincent, thank you for your help in getting my car to me today before CNY.

Since you will be on long holiday, can you give me another SA contact who can
a) give good service even when busy like you, Vincent
b) revert very quickly on enquiries even after working hours like you, Vincent
c) give what is agreed between customer and SA like you, Vincent
d) straightforward with no bull shit cock and bull story like you, Vincent
e) give good price and still deliver like you, Vincent

Cos I'm sure alot of my friends and colleagues will ask me about my experience buying my Preve.

Last time when I bought my Exora CFE, I had enough shit from the SA that I faxed a cancellation letter on my booking to Proton and the branch, forfeited my deposit and got my Exora from another Dealer.

You did a good job. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

You have got it exactly. Most people don't understand till they do the same thing in the wet. If you consider PS3 good tyres, then I will tell you it happens as well if the abs is deactivated (by removing fuse) and not when the abs is running normally.

Is it as follows

Braking power (distance and time) and brake fade (consistency and total loss of braking power) are different.

Braking power increases with tech (abs, ebd, tc), grip (biting pads that eat discs, good tyres, bigger calipers with bigger or multiple pistons & resulting bigger pads for more surface area), booster, suspension set up and less weight.

Brake fade threshold increases with higher temp pads, higher Dot fluid, ventilated and slotted discs and less weight. Seldom got floating disc for 'non performance sports' cars.

Any of you know how much it costs to replace this cracked part? Happened while installing my reverse camera.
Looked thru the spare part price list but im unsure what is the name of this part.
Might be kind of hard to see in the pictures, but it looks worse in real life, and can be felt with fingertips

yeah.. confirm my brake fade.. no brake at all... during that time i release the brake and slam again and again until got little grip and stop for tollbooth. open window and got that 'smell'..

just tested brake abs, got abs sound and good stop..
