Yeah, I tried with soundforge n audition. But the results is not very good, at least u can get something like a karaoke effect...

Audigy 2 Zs [either softmodded or not] can cut the vocal also, not very clear also...

Tried with Audacity last time...yeah..the result...a bit weird

the simple answer is no.

of course you can play with all the softwares that you can get on the internet. even with cool edit pro 2 (now is adobe audition) or any other expensive studio softwares but the results are same. it wont be as good as the karaoke version and to be frank, quite a long way from that. karaoke has the vocal recorded to a seperated channel. where all mp3 has everything recorded to a single channel. imagine you're dealing with water colours. can you mix several colours up and then let's say, you wanna take only green colour out of it? this has been discussed for countless times already all over any other professional sound recording/engineering forums.

mp3 is harder... if .wav might have better result then mp3... there is tutorial to ENHANCE* the result from mixing software... however there is no way to do it perfectly, unless u got the raw audio file which is impossible to obtain where they record every instrument in seperate channel

I tried before.. remove quite a lot of the vocals but background music low abit.. I used steinberg wavelab... Just record it a few times, everytime the voice gets less and less (but got limit lah) Vocal remover tried before but no manual i think, all auto!! Just keep playing with whatever program u use (increase/decrease low,middle and high freq.) and good luck!!
