after digging high and low...doing read ups...asking here and there...resulting me more confuse... rclxub.gif

been zooming into 2 brands...Alpine (more budget as for now) OR Hertz (1 kali hantam) with budget of 2.5k max...
ohh...I am using back the ori HU and not going to mod my door panel as my ride is still new...baru 3.5km...

being recon by friend A to go for 2 way...
friend B said 3 way better...
friend C recon masuk amp...
friend D pulak sound processor better than amps... icon_question.gif

Alpine
setup 1 ...type S 4" coax (SPS410) front and 6.5" coax (SPS610) rear with optional 4 channel amps...
friend recon (said: What you wan... Myvi is still a Myvi...!!!) blush.gif

Hertz
setup 1... 2 way 4" coax (DCX100.3) front and 6.5" coax (DCX165.3) rear with optional 4 channel amps...
friend told me this setup enuf for my ride... blink.gif

setup 2... 2 way 4" coax (ECX100) front and 6.5" coax (ECX165) rear with optional 4 channel amps...
friend told me this setup need amps or setup will only perform 50% of what it should be... shakehead.gif

setup 3... 2 way 4" comp (ET20 tweeter and EM100 with 2way Xover XC200) front and 6.5" comp (ET20 tweeter and ESK165L with 2 way Xover XC200) rear with optional 4 channel amps (Hertz HE4.1) or sound processor (Audison Bit10)...
friend said: with this setup if others complain he will kick their ASS.... tongue.gif

setup 4... 3 way...ESX163L (ET20 tweeter...EM100 mid...ESK165L with 3 way Xover XC300) with 4 channel amps (Audison SR4) and sound processor (Audison Bit10)...
friend said this is the best setup around 2.5k... hmm.gif

Hi bro I recommend you to get a decent hu first as for the casing a lot of shops have casing for myvi
Because crap in = crap out
And get a decent 6.5 component speakers and modify the door panel to make it possible to put the speakers
And get a decent amp and a sub
The audio processor can wait later because good ones costs about 4k

For your budget get a good hu+6.5 component speakers and an amplifier smile.gif
All the best for the ice

TS, if u limit urself to only using back the front dash speaker holders and only using 4" speakers
have u listen in a car with similar set up or ask the shop demo u between a 4" and 6.5"?
before u go spend the money and not getting what u r expecting

unless u have some wonder 4" fitted on, u might just be reli bored with the lack of bass
however, u can always throw in a sub icon_rolleyes.gif

changing the crappy hu is also important, otherwise its just a waste of the alpine and Hertz
but if ur myvi already comes with a double din screen as standard, not recommended to change lar coz will reli throw ur budget to install an aftermarket one biggrin.gif

Would recommend you to just install an active sub. That's it.

To make your setup work with only a 4" mid. You will need to find a full range driver with possibly a gigantic enclosure to work wonderfully.

Bro, my advise, for this stage, ignore the stuff your friend is going to sell you, do this:

-Ditch the ori HU, get a new HU for RM500 or more
-Spend RM500 or more to soundproof the interior of your car, do the front driver and passenger, from topmost part of the firewall reachable by hand, down to the floor pan, go as far as ur budget allow.
-then spend another RM500 for a set of component speakers (personally recommend Boston S60)
-then spend RM 1000 for a GENUINE under seat woofer, or an amp+sub combo.

There's your 2.5K, from a guy who's gone through the above 5 steps, 3 month at a time.... painfully slow...but very budget and you won't go wrong.

ohh...

I found a shop in penang (they claim they sell ori) that sell Hertz ESX163L (ET20 tweeter...EM100 mid...ESK165L woofer with 3 way Xover XC300) and Hertz HE4.1 4 channel amps for only 2.5k....

they said only basic installation...no sound proofing and cables...

worth the $$$ arrr...??? hmm.gif

regarding sound proofing...where should I do for basic setup...I just wan to have a nice setup no like I can't hare ant thing from outside...

The hertz setup should be ok, but then you wouldn't have budget for anything else dy =D

I'm from KL, so can't help you (^-^)"

Sound proof from topmost part of the firewall reachable by hand, down to the floor pan, go as far as ur budget allow.

Recommend to start off by capping soundproof budget to RM 500.
After u feel (hear) what RM 500 can do for u, you won't turn back =D

To max out sound proofing (boot, bonnet, door, roof, wheel arcs), u need minimum 4k, single layer, whole car; more if u do double layer.

Most effect for Myvi and Saga is the front floor pan up to firewall, bonnet, and front wheel arc. Sound proofing the doors give minimal effect (contrary to common belief), until u do the first 3 parts.

Sound proofing is a must (unless u're going for SPL, IMHO you won't hear the road noise anyway) for SQ set up. so consider it.

Bro, maybe I would suggest u to source for some used midbass + tweeter or component set.. And change to a decent HU.... Try to go for used high end HU if u r really serious about ICE... Do it slowly and u will appreciate more... Jus my 2 cents... smile.gif
