Used Wopow-RM98,bought at a computer shop in Taylors Uni,not bad,can stand for 2-3months before I change to Reemax-RM69 on November 5.

Now spoilee de..which powerbank better?Now@Lowyat
Budget RM109

RM98 and used for 2 to 3 months and then spoilt, no warranty ???

Another RM69 from Nov 5 to Dec 16 and spoilt?
Wow!

I just bought an Anker Astro 2 from ismartpower...

The quality is different from others and you can see it for yourself, but the price is higher.
Good is not cheap, cheap is not good... sounds to be proven true in some cases..

But with 18 months warranty from seller and Anker, it will be more worthwhile than spending money every 1 to 3 months !

The Anker Astro2, 2nd generation, 9000 mAh...

The plastic casing somehow gives a look and feel that its a quality product. My daughter held and exclaimed "wah, so nice to hold" .... ??

But it really reminds me of products from Apple, dunno why, but without the high cost..

(Thanks to ismartpower .. great online seller ... does what he says..)

I think yoobao is about RM10 to rm30 cheaper, but I rather get this Anker.. And it won't be the last.

original yoobao power bank doesnt come along with the adaptor?
zeus power bank now price is RM299? So expensive...

Most power banks does not come with the 3 pin adaptor, just a USB cable to charge the power bank. You need to use your phone's 3 pin adaptor.

So far so good with the Anker Astro 2, 9000 mAh. Its small enough and with two USB ports does its job well enough. Went overseas with it and it has enough power for 3 to almost 4 times charging iphone 5s with about 10% battery remaining. Its design is compact without any buttons to fiddle with and this is a plus point for me.

So I have just placed another order for one more Anker from ismartpower.
This time its the Astro 3, 2nd generation, 12000 mAh. I want to use this when going for long distance rides and need to use the GPS which drains the phone rather quickly. I also do a lot of online web surfing in addition to listening to music and watching videos / youtube.

Google maps has come a long way now with the turn by turn voice directions to reach your destination. Its surprisingly accurate.

If we use a fake powerbank but charge with a original apple lighting cable, will it affect our phone?

Good question. How much would you trust the fake powerbank and the components that are used inside. Google search for the brand and check whether there is any case of the batteries leaking and cause damage.

Just ask: Is the electronic design good with protection against overcharging the phone? If its cheap, it means that the manufacturer who still need to make money, will make sure their costs of making the battery are even cheaper to show a profit. So to make money, the manufacturer will need to use cheap or the cheapest materials which are not tested. Would you trust your RM2000++ phone with a cheap battery source with sub standard materials? remember, R&D costs a lot of money to ensure design, form and function works perfectly with the right kind of materials.

Just an analogy, let's say you bought a RM500,000 car. And the battery needs to be changed due to wear and tear. Not exactly the same situation.... but anyway... let's see.

Would you put in a cheap battery to power the car's expensive electronics such as onboard computer, dashboard with retina display, radio hifi system, onboard GPS system, anti roll system based on gravitational forces, anti theft alert and location system (find my car back) alarm and security system using finger print to unlock car door and start engine, voice controlled air cond lower temp, increase fan blower speed, wind down windows just by talking to it .... etc, etc, etc. ehhh... it sounds like an iphone to me smile.gif

Or would you stick to the recommended battery by the manufacturer, which costs just RM100 more. Save the RM100 and put in a fake battery and the car may not work well or last as long ... your choice...

Very good point... these are electronic items which could develop problems later on. Warranty and hassle free support is very important to me.

So if you order from overseas like taobao, sometimes in batches, it is better you know how to get support when your power bank got problems.

Bought my second Anker from iSmartpower ... Astro 3, 2nd generation, 12000 mAh.

A bigger one with more juice and with 3 ports... so far so good, charging times are fast ...

I have a lighter and smaller Astro 2 which can fit into a lady's handbag comfortably, so this Astro 3 is for me biggrin.gif

This means you can go out the whole day or two without needing a power outlet and you can surf, play games the whole day (if this is what you like to do!) What this means for me is that I can be on a long journey or go on holiday tours and still keep my phone charged up to enable me to take photos or videos without worrying about running down my phone battery.

I've teach titan 8400mah, the problem is when i charge my blackberry overnight i only left with 20% of the capacity. At 1st i thought its the battery issue. But now i realized that power bank that dont have auto cut off will continue charging even your phone is at 100%.

Can anyone correct me if im wrong?
*
some can, some cannot. It depends on the powerbank design whether there is a smart output or not.

For my Anker 2nd gen powerbank, when I plug into the phone, it will charge the phone untill full and then the light will go off automatically without me unplugging it. So this is auto cut off and will save the phone battery from being overcharged and reduce the useful life ...
