Yes you can. Some or most of third party app can do their own scanning. Example I use quickpic and poweramp  and mx player which works well even with media scan disabled.

Yeah but the discussion is media server is a normal process. U still need it for your tones, stock gallery/music/video app, some 3rd party app that rely on it etc...

well i can exit by selecting exit from the game but i think its a bit buggy...coz i need to re-launch for a few times only can play...lol
