I just bought this phone 1 week ago and checked the IMEI authentication via SMS using PC "IMEI" method and it replied that I haven't been registered to e-warranty yet. Could it be an issue that I didnt receive the updates because of unregistered warranty?

You dont need KIES to flash firmware. You install KIES for its USB drivers only
It is 101% safe to flash stock firmware download from sammobile.com
And you do NOT need root to flash official stock firmware ( any country). Just use the software ODin in PC

Thanks Benny.

So in Odin, what should I check and unchecked. Previously those files I installed via Odin is in tar format and not sure if zip works too. So I would just use browse and select the file in the PDA selection?

Odin can only flash extracted files in tar format. For full zip files if extracted you see several folders ( eg data, system, meta INF etc)  this can only be flash through RECOVERY mode
In Odin , just leave everything as default and just select the tar file as PDA

Err.. the firmware im downloading now from sammobile is in zip format.

Unzip the file using winrar or 7zip. You will get another file with a similar name, but ending with "tar" extension. This file is what you need to use with PC odin.

Did you follow all the the instructions in the link given? Normally it only takes less than 10 minutes to flash. I guess you could try to re-flash, but read again the instructions properly, and that you have all the files needed, especially USB Samsung Drivers installed or KIES installed (but KIES should not be running).

I assume you had your phone in download mode before connecting to the computer?

I unplug and tried again and it's moving smoothly now. I didn't run as admin maybe that caused that problem. Now I am thinking to root it already as the custom roms are awesome!
