Hey guys, i got a very weird scenario here. Last week my note 2 reboot itself and stuck at the logo screen for no reason and cant even boot into recovery mode, plus the my screen will have white flash occasionally going on. So i send it fot warranty and they give me a one for one unit exchange, which means a totally new model. However, i just realise that at the storage space, it shows free storage 5.36GB only instead of 11GB something for a 16GB model. Any one has any idea for this weird scenario? Dont tell me they change the whole internal memory for me and tell me is a new phone=.= but i checked the IMEI and it is indeed a new phone.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 24 2013, 09:31 AM) Try factory reset and check again If still shows same it just means the unit is a refurbished set and the emmc partitions was destroyed previously and reassigned to only 8 gb just did a factory reset, still shows the same. is there any way i can fix it myself? like flashing a new ROM or repartition it back to 16GB? or imy only solution is to send it back to the shop

QUOTE(joytest @ Jan 24 2013, 10:03 AM) Install storage analyzer and run it. It will show you the locations of large files. Install Ghost Commander or Solid Explorer or ES File Explorer and turn on the Show Hidden Files settings. I'm sure somebody played with this unit. Did you get just the phone only or the whole sealed box when they swapped for you? it's not in a galaxy note 2 box but it's their own company box. ya, just collected the phone back today. try storage analyzer, it shows the same 5GB+ And there's no hidden files in the storage either.. damn.. i guess tomorrow i need to go back to the repair centre since it it still under warranty..

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 24 2013, 10:22 AM) ONly service centre can do it Looks like your EMMC partitions were destroyed and left only 8gb My friend previous Note ( not Note 2) similar situation. His was AP set and his spolied partitions was deactivated and left only 8 gb. He accepted it as he did not want to spend money replacing the internal memory as warranty expired i see.. yea, tomorrow i am going to demand them to do a one for one exchange on the spot in front of me.. btw guys, i am in UK now, so my set is a UK one. lol
