Yes , you can. Need to wipe caches partition, dalvik cache and wipe data/factory reset first before installing the flash zip file

I just fired up your blog, read how to flash CWM6.0.1.5 but used the tar file and flashed it using ODIN

no problem and quick as a rabbit... done and running it now

wokei, finish experimenting flashing here there, now facing minor problems, i need some advise, from origin xalj3 i've rooted, & flash twrp, do a nandroid backup, flash romov custom rom, and then flash again to dlk7, stuck with system status and custom binary download at modified, left no choice, flash back stock recovery, still the same, and lastly wipe/factory reset at stock recovery, and re-flash dlk7, finally got into both system status and current binary is official, and normal, but the custom binary download is remained at Yes (1 counts), so what should i do next? root again, and run triangle away 2.6?

My advise to you , DON'T bother about flash counter and system is modified
It is purely wasting time trying to rectify this
For what purpose ??
This is not going to affect your phone performance at all
Unless you decide to sell phone or sent in warranty than just use triangleaway to clear flash counter and use Odin in PC to flash stock rom to get back everything to normal

u r using the new bootloader. cant reset binary count to 0 at the moment.

if u want u can always flash back the old bootloader. unroot and try reset back the counter to 0.

I am on new bootloader since LL7 and now on UBDDLL3 and have no problem using trangleaway 2.60 to reset counter to zero and rom status as official ( in download mode)
But as i have said earlier all these tasks is unnecessary as it does not affect performance. I test it just to proof it can be done

TA 2.60 is the latest one? ill cx from xda.

i tried v2.55 and 2.37 but both wont reset the counter. someone did guide me to flash back the old bootloader but ive got no intention to return my device for warranty so i let it be.

if you dont bother about the warranty then just ignore it as for me I do concern about the warranty that is why resetting the counter to 0 and having system status to Normal is vital

yup i know. i did it once b4 the 4.1.2 update and manage to reset it. i fully understand how it works. So in the near future if something were to happen(no way) at least i know what to do.

what puzzles me is that there are some(read few threads from xda) using custom roms yet manage to get counter 0 with other things official.

i manage to get my status as normal but everything in download mode is custom.
really urge me to dig more info in xda

yes, exactly, I do concern about my warranty as well, in my humble opinion though, I'm some sort of sacrificing the addiction to custom rom, but because of warranty issues, I prefer to be on stock, and what's the purpose am I still on stock rom, if the device itself couldn't eligble for warranty at the 1st place? I'm so sorry, but no offense.

This is just purely self satisfaction only. You can "cheat" the counter staff but if the tech wants to void your warranty they can still dig out your flashing records.
I have sent in 5 times past 3 years to Samsung with phones obviously rooted/flash with custom rom ( one time even booting up with yellow triangle) warranty is still honour and all services done FOC. 4 times at previous Plaza Berjaya and last time at Lowyat
I always said once you start the route to root/flash be always be mentally prepared warranty is void. If you are not prepared for this eventuality dont bother root/flash. There are cases where user tried to cheat through clearing flash counters, re flashing to stock roms and yet warranty is void. So depend on your luck

Yes, I do know about this. Yes that I am prepared but for me better to have everything stated Official and Normal when at the SC counter rather than having Custom and Modified. Yes I am rooted with stock rom and kernel and non of the custom roms do entice me at all as I am really satisfied with the stock rom and kernel.

My download mode status is Official and my system status is Normal. So I am happy with it and enjoying my phone with root capabilities.
