Starting from Android 4.0 Google removed ad hoc network support. So if your portable device transmit ad hoc network you may not be able to connect to it. Some users managed to modify the wpa supplicant file to support ad hoc network. I might try to do that after I got my phone.

I reckon it's the apps you have running in the background on the Nexus 4 that is eating up a lot of the charge on your Nexus 4 that offsets the charging capability of the Panasonic Qi Charger. Android is not like iOS, when it has things running in the background, it is running LIVE in the background eating up processor cycle and battery charge. iOS multitasking basically freezes the app in its current state, minimizing power drainage, although if you have games running in the background it will still sip battery power.

Go ahead and use your wired charger, I'm moving into the future wire-free. A whole lot of variables can be faulted to when it comes to running Android and taming its background services, but from what I had on my DROID DNA and Lumia 920, the Panasonic Qi Charger is the only charger that works and charges them to full when I lift them off the charging plate.

1. Disable v-sync, graphic framerate can go over 60 FPS = better performance. Some app, even game like Angrybird or Homescreen are not using the GPU to render graphic. By forcing it to render in GPU, you get additional performance because the S4 Pro CPU in this phone has Andreno 320 GPU that is as powerful as Xbox 360.

2. You can experiment with other size. My testing, 2048 give me best performance.
