QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jan 15 2013, 04:08 PM) Starting from Android 4.0 Google removed ad hoc network support. So if your portable device transmit ad hoc network you may not be able to connect to it. Some users managed to modify the wpa supplicant file to support ad hoc network. I might try to do that after I got my phone. No wonder when I set up Adhoc on my laptop to share the internet, my N4 can't pick up the SSID. How to enable ad hoc network support?Think I pissed the Hotspot facebook operator by asking about the courier status again |

Seems like they are still in try and error stage to enable the Adhoc mode for Nexus 7 according to THIS[attachmentid=3263618] Been a long wait They did mentioned about Bluetooth tether? |

I'm using it now naked without any screen protector or casing. Just put it in a pouch. You get this one kind of a feel using it naked. Hahahahaha

Actually wireless charging is just a novelty. I'm using the panasonic Qi charger and I found that it didn't fully charge the phone. I don't know if my charger is faulty or the phone is. So end up I have to use the wired charger to ensure a full battery charge.

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jan 16 2013, 05:43 PM) Doomsday says otherwise. We had a meet in Times Square and he has his Nexus 4 charged in the time we had coffee in Starbucks there. It works and charge my DROID DNA and Lumia 920(which is a b**** to charge to full) to full capacity without any issue. That's why I said I'm not sure if the phone or the charger is at fault. Still exploring the phone. I'm afraid there's something or some app that's putting the phone in deep sleep that stops the charging. This is just my assumption.I reckon it's the apps you have running in the background on the Nexus 4 that is eating up a lot of the charge on your Nexus 4 that offsets the charging capability of the Panasonic Qi Charger. Android is not like iOS, when it has things running in the background, it is running LIVE in the background eating up processor cycle and battery charge. iOS multitasking basically freezes the app in its current state, minimizing power drainage, although if you have games running in the background it will still sip battery power. Go ahead and use your wired charger, I'm moving into the future wire-free. A whole lot of variables can be faulted to when it comes to running Android and taming its background services, but from what I had on my DROID DNA and Lumia 920, the Panasonic Qi Charger is the only charger that works and charges them to full when I lift them off the charging plate. And one thing, when I put the N4 on top of my pouch, it does not charge. If I put in the pouch then it'll charge. It's not that I want to use the wired charger but I need to use it to get to full charge. If not I would not even unwrapped the charger and cable from the box. It'll be a waste not using the panasonic Qi. This post has been edited by frozzbyte: Jan 16 2013, 07:17 PM |

QUOTE(Dragonflyz @ Jan 16 2013, 07:17 PM) Difference between on the pouch and in the pouch, I'll assume the distance between the phone n the charger will be different, right? This is because I've seen Stringfellow put his Lumia920 on the pouch, and it charged the phone.I don't know if this is relevant but http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/12/14/ne...ays-work-video/ This post has been edited by frozzbyte: Jan 16 2013, 07:30 PM |

Found the culprit that's messing with the wireless charging. It was the battery doctor app. Now the phone is happily charging to 100% wirelessly.
Thanks to Stringfellow for pointing it out |

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Jan 18 2013, 08:59 PM) 1. Disable v-sync, graphic framerate can go over 60 FPS = better performance. Some app, even game like Angrybird or Homescreen are not using the GPU to render graphic. By forcing it to render in GPU, you get additional performance because the S4 Pro CPU in this phone has Andreno 320 GPU that is as powerful as Xbox 360. Does "Force GPU rendering" in developer option is the same as what you did for no 1?2. You can experiment with other size. My testing, 2048 give me best performance. 3. Sorry, it's "noop". It was a pun i like to use on that IO Scheduler because it's really simple. It is almost as good as SIO IO scheduler. But to use SIO, I need to recompile the kernel, which, I can change the IO scheduler to noop in franco.kernel.updater but I'm not sure how to do no 2. |
