QUOTE(derrickmoo @ Jan 15 2013, 08:26 PM) just felt a few stuff is missing in LG... Unless he comparing Gnex 4.0 with LGnex 4.2.... obviously with the LGnex being too buttery 1. very suffer to change a ringtone, need to move here n there or even need a ringtone maker. 2. camera is extremely so-so, nothing to wow about BUT the Android 4.2 really makes a huge difference to whole experience 3. battery life i doubt it will be better than the GNex. 4. Signal wise is the most headache for me.. note 2, iphone 5 and GNex can detect at least "3G" at my house, LGNex can only detect "E" (no matter how close i put at the windows). To me this is the most unacceptable one's. As i use my phone to hotspot at home, without it im doomed! 5. When i connect to AUX at my car, most of callers complaint that how come i speak so soft, cant hear! But before that, i use others fone is working fine.. same thing, same cable, same AUX! Very satisfied with Android 4.2 but frankly im dissapointed with LG... My friend who owns the Gnex is considering upgrading to the LGnex, and was playing with my phone today.... to him.. not much different in hardware, except that the LGnex is obviously faster (smooter). Other than that, it looks and pretty much acts the same. On button, vol control, even the notification light is the same spot.... Both running 4.2.1.... in my opinion, if you put a black tape along where the speaker is.... and along the edges.... from the front most people wont be able to tell the difference between the 2 phones.... even if they used it, the OS is too similar to know the difference..... |

QUOTE(derrickmoo @ Jan 15 2013, 08:49 PM) I believe GOOGLE trying to bring the LG up... by having knowledge/technology transfer...HTC made the first Android phone.. after that, they seem to "know" how to make an Android phone. After that, Samsung made the next 2 Nexus phone. Look at where they are today.... S2 was decent, but the S3 is seriously taking market share from Apple.... Motorola seems to be the only one that didnt do well with their first 10" tablet. Asus seems to doing well (in terms of quantity sold, better than all their other Android products) with Nexus 7 and most recently announced (rumour) the Nexus 7.7. They also announced a budget Android 7" tablet. This time is LG. Hopefully next will be a Sony NEXUS product.... of which I will SO buy the SONY Nexus!!!! |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jan 15 2013, 09:13 PM) I'm using my SGS 2 for almost 14 months now but I never listen, listen, listen, listen, listen to any songs through it's speaker.Always use headphone. I reckon HTC made a great One series (I owned the Desire and Sensation, not the ONE), but they have always been a small time manufacturer. Small player with small market share. So I don't really mind how the loud speaker performs. As long as I can hear the ringtone I'm fine with it. HTC got lazy after their 1st generation Android phone.Their desire line is just copy paste of their other products.Their One line is good but by then Samsung already gain too much influence over Android users. S2 is still a great product.I'm running a modified version of Samsung stock Android 4.1.2 version & it perform as well as you can expect. I do understand why Google gave LG the Nexus manufacturing chance.Optimus G contain some great hardware. But Google should considered or monitor LG's manufacturing capabilities & their QC. It's not easy to fight with Samsung in term of manufacturing capabilities.Do you guys know that almost all the parts for Nexus 10 produced by Samsung themselves? Not many company can do that. ASUS is a very interesting OEM.A dark horse if you ask me.They make excellent Android tablet with almost stock Android and always deliver timely software update. They also make interesting product like Padphone which actually make sense since tablets & phone shares similar hardware which make it suitable to make phone + tablet hybrid.Hopefully Google will update Android with more feature to support Padfone like project. But with S3 they got kinda lazy.Using the same plastic design while trying to do too much with the software. They need streamline their software if they want SGS IV to be successful.Brand name won't help for a long time. It's a painful lesson learned by Nokia. Samsung on the other hand, has factories for everything, from memory to TV to phones.....etc etc.. And their phone market share is NOT small, 2nd to Nokia (previously), and now currently #1 in phones moved "In Q1 2012, after 14 years in the market, Samsung surpassed Nokia in units sold. Samsung also taking pole position in smartphones with 44.5 million smartphones sold or 30.6% market share, while 35.1 million iPhones sold or 24.1% market share" Quote taken from Wiki A little hard to compare HTC (little boy) to Samsung (giant).... If you asked me, Samsung is the NEW SONY, taking over all of Sony's market segment..... developing better products at a better price.... exactly what SONY was doing 20 years ago.... But a day will come, when Samsung are less competitive and some CHINA brand will be the next Samsung, the next Sony.... Asus is a player in the PC, laptop, graphics card, motherboard segment. They had 2 very interesting product, the Transformer and the Padphone, two of which has great potential.... but I reckon Android wasnt mature enough to handle what they wanted to do. Obviously the Nexus 7 is a great product, because google just rebranded it to a Nexus with minimal design change to the original Asus branded tablet...... The smartphone market is becoming very crowded with so many players. It is pretty hard to differentiate nowadays. And of course, we have a new HORSE into the race the Nokia/Windows combo. I reckon Nokia/Windows are a little late to the race... but being 2 big players with heavily invested interest (do or die for Nokia, and if Nokia die, so will Windows Mobile)..... and very DEEP pocket.... I don't think MS will NOT allow Nokia to die.... they will keep pumping money in...... Nokia could go bankrupt if their Windows phone doesnt gain any traction.... |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Jan 16 2013, 11:53 AM) I had issue connecting to WPA2 routers. (posted in V3)If it was set to both WPA/WPA2 it wont connect. If it was set to ONLY WPA2 it wont connect. If it was set to ONLY WPA then OK no issues. See whether are you having similar issues to me Bandwidth = 20Mhz No other issues I had with my laptop, N7 or Sensation with the previous setup of WPA/WPA2. |

QUOTE(shockk @ Jan 17 2013, 11:25 AM) As a Nexus fan, the pure-Google experience is just second to none. I've used HTC One X, S3, Note II, Xperia Acro. Still, previous Galaxy Nexus's interface looks coolest amongst all, and that is now replaced by my new Nexus 4. The only thing that would be BETTER than the Nexus 4, is probably Nexus 5 with the rumoured (and most likely) 5" 1080p screen (same as Droid DNA & Xperia Z). But that would take about another 6-months at least to be released. +1 Wish I had the budget to play with all the TOP END phones... to test and compare.... |

QUOTE(ogiveyakuza @ Jan 19 2013, 11:35 PM) Brand new unused. Box has been opened to take out the warranty card and stamped with their Company Stamp... Both front and back sticker still on the phone... I am very sure, when you see it with little or NO fingerprints, you'll know its brand new.... |
