I just want to let anyone from penang to beware of this company eSx**xx. i have experience this for myself and do not hope someone else to follow my path, as i'm really pissed about what they did on me.

here is the full story,

position apply: Web Developer
salary : 1500
working hour : 9am to 5pm

for the first time i went sungai dua for the interview (NOTE that sg dua is the place i went for interview, and i should work here in common sense), before that actually i already got offered with a position on other company. so, during the interview i request them to make decision whether to hire me as soon as possible coz i have to sign contract with the other company very soon.

after a day or two, they call me say they need me for the position. so 2nd interview in conducted at prangin mall. at that time, they didn't mention that i will be reallocated for the work. during the 2nd interview, the salary had being discussed. i mention that i request for minimum 1500 of salary for me to accept the job. the guy who interviewed me say he will discuss with the boss(in facts i think he can make the decision his own). at the same day after the interview, he gave me a sms which tell me that they are going to offer me with RM1100 + 200(attendance allowance) < GOD how does it make sence to have such attendance allowance, if u apply for leave at that month, the attendance allowance will be deducted completely >. i said that is not acceptable, and remind them again that my minimum salary expectation is Rm1500. after he discuss with the bosses, they agree to increse the salary to RM 1200 + 300. finally i accepted the offer, becoz the company(sg dua branch) is actually very close with my house and about the attendance allowance is not my concern either since i seldom take leave.

once i have accepted this position, i rejected the offer from other company. before start working on eSx**xx, i've been told that working hour is from 9am to 5pm. but they never inform me that i'm going to work 6 full working days per week.

at the first day of my work, i have been told to go Prangin Mall branch to meet with the boss. once i met the boss, i have been told that at sg dua branch there isn't actually a place for me to work. so i have to work at Prangin mall and the working hour i have to follow their sales person working hour which is 11:30am to 9pm < Oh yea~~working hour increased up to 1hour 30min per day, and who the hell who work as programmer/web designer have to follow sales working hour?!!! > . at that time when i heard that, i really got pissed. the next day straight i resign.

above are the story about my experience on eSx**xx. i really hope that no one will follow my path and at the end got pissed like i do.

p/s: there is NO OFFENCE to any person and DO NOT INTENT to spoil any company's image. i'm just to give my advice to ppl who are looking for job so that they wont face this situation which i think is bad.

Just type type the company name out in full. If you have no intent to spoil company image, you wouldn't be posting your experience here.
*
well~~ just in case someone might thinking that way it's better i do not type in full and i'm not suppose to type that in full. that would be against the code and regulation of this forum.

this is about job hunting experience. why wouldn't i posting the things here? this is a Jobs & Careers section. my experience that i shared is related to jobs and careers. unless i'm talking something like "that company selling lousy things, bla bla bla...." else i dont find there is anything wrong on my post.

I think his intention is not to spoil the company image but to inform all LYN forumers that if they are to get a job in this company, this is what they should expect (and this is not told by the company directly during the interview).

So, those who are going for interview in this company, make sure that you know this fact. Whether to take the offer or not (or even interview session), it's up to you to consider.

YES! this is what actually i wanted to say.

no problem if u guys want to work for them. but please ask the job scope and the job details in 100% clear before u start it. else it going to kill you, trust me rclxub.gif

let me help u. is it eSqUA re?

i think both parties also got responsiblities to bear.

shadowfx for not confirming on so many details. and the company for leaving out so many details even they know they are required to disclose to people interested in joining them. their means show disrespect to their staff.

good for u to have left, shadowfx.

yea, i did something wrong too^^ i admit that. do not ask for the details before starts the job, my bad. learn a small lesson from this company. nothing for me to lose either.

thank god i quit that. rclxm9.gif

EDIT: my "yea" above do not actually answer ur first question^^

besides this, i think the overall message is to check the contract properly. make sure it states the working hours as well as any remuneration in it. keep asking questions to clear your doubt on signing the contract as well...
*
oh yea, forget to add this. they actually do not give me any letter of offer and contract when i started the job. i keep on request for that, but everytime they end up with excuses that they cant give me the contract or letter at the time i request for(what is their intention? i really have no idea). but some of my friends say they maybe looking for better candidates or they actually regret to hire me and want me to resign myself and they come with those bad and unfair request from me.

In conclusion, the lessons learned from this experience are;

1. Always read the contract before signing (including the fine print)
- From the contract you should know your salary including allowances
- Your contracted working hours
- Leave amount per annum (any clauses that if taking leave would affect your allowance)

2. Ask a lot of questions during the interview especially work culture, average working hours, location you are based at.

You would definitely have no obligation to do anything for the company if you have not signed any contracts.

There's no rule on this forum which says you can't tell the truth, or even the name of a company. Besides, if you're sure you're right, then even if someone thinks that company is heaven, you should be able to justify your opinion. Just putting something like A***z doesn't really help anyone.
*
this is your freedom for you to write anything on this forum. i myself dont think i would need to write the company's name in full. anyway, thankx for your advice.

Actually, there are such things stupid questions. For instance, if asking a question will make you seem less qualified for the job, it's better you not ask it and find out about it after the interview. And even if you think no questions are stupid, your interviewer might not share the same philosophy. So... just be careful and plan what you might want to ask.
*
agree with you. but now i think it's better to make everything clear before we need to start taking the position. everthing should be in black and white, so that later on you dont have to argue with the company.

and do remember, the company is not liable to pay u $$$ if there's no black and white. yeah, verbal agreement does lawfully bind, but ur words will go against his words. nth will progress unless there are willing witness.

well, that's one thing. in ur case, if u have sign the doc, then u may in for a more horrid time trying to quit.

that's y u must make sure everything is in order before starting.

yea, this is what i have learnt^^
no contract/letter of offer means i dont have to start working yet. icon_rolleyes.gif
