Hi Shafiq,

The cost to deliver an Xbox 360 via International Express Shipping (DHL) is S$41.20. This excludes shipping insurance and Customs duties if any. We can ship them out upon the launch of the consoles in Singapore and should have no issues marking them as a gift to reduce Custom duties. Typically, we usually declare such items as Computer Hardware instead of Computer Gaming Device to avoid high duties on our customer end.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further assistance.

Thank you.

Regards,

Stephen Ho

feels free to browse their website too at http://www.gameshop.com.sg/ as I believe the delivery period and cost is cheaper compared with the one offerd by play-asia.com as they r based in Singapore. Furthermore, the delivery will be marked as agift and computer item too.

Please don't flame me here, as I am just trying to help other people to get their xbxo 360 asian version in the most ecnomical way as possible, and i have no relation with them too. I have decided to make an online credit card purchase of xbxo 360 and wifi adapater from them, and will self collect those on the launching date. this is to ensure that I wiil not have to go back home empty handed as the supply of xbox on launching date is very limited.

Xbox 360 premium version = SG$660 + International Express Shipping (DHL) = S$41.20 = TOTAL SG$701.20 = RM 1,601.53

i think better include the tax estimation too just in case... if dont get tax then consider bonus. if not sure you later heart attack.

you need to ask them to declare the xbox 360 asian package at a very very low value.

if with the true value of RM1,600. based on electronic tax (25 %) you need to pay up extra RM400. sweat.gif

I don't think kastam will take away the xbox 360 since if is from DHL (worldwide courier company)

if is from EMS or Air mail (don't think can use Air mail) then maybe Kastam might take something back for thier own.

Customs are very dangerous people. I've heard many horror stories of people who never receive their parcels, or people who did receive but some stuff went missing/got damaged. Which is why I never ever go for airmail. At the very least, services like UPS have a reputation to uphold, so they'll ensure that all packages arrive fast and in good condition smile.gif

Always go for courier if you can. Or at the very least use EMS. Because they are insured those gatal tangan ppl think twice before swiping anything.

Yalor .. kena tax like crazy ... but like i say somewhere in this forum. The tax can be avioded if the package in under-declared, that was the mistake that I did not do. If you buy anything with a total of more than RM400 .. remember to under-declare it.

wow after reading the posts, i just realized that i'm a total n00b in buying stuff via shipping! well..that's because i've never done that before..so spare me. tongue.gif

anyhoo, could you kind dudes give me a n00b tutorial about this shipping2 stuff?

1) i went to gameshop.com.sg and found that there are two methods of shipping; express and standard. difference is in terms of delivery time and cost. for both, they will be using the same shipping services yeah? and are there any cons in standard shipping besides waiting a little longer?

2) about taxing. now if i were to order and ask for shipping from gameshop, would there be any tax at all? if so, how much?

thanks for your answers dudes. me so n00bie. laugh.gif laugh.gif thumbup.gif

SLower shipping options usually have the tendecy to get caught by the customs though not always the case.People use the faster shipping with that in mind, and also they cannot wait any longer for their stuff.

2) This is my personal opinion, there is no cutoff limit to what gets taxed and what is not. Example, a close friend got himself a package of games worth RM200++ but still get taxed, while i once got past customs without tax even when Play-Asia was shipping me the PSP package with invoices clearly stuck outside stating the worth of the package more than RM1000++. It is all luck of the draw.

My advice is to request Gamescore to declare the item at lower price, mark it as something less prone to tax, and also mark it as "Gift". But of course the customs are clever, you can mark down the price to RM300+ say, but ifyour item is huge and heavy and you declare it as something that is not, chances are youe package will be held one way or another. There are no guarantees here.

1. No idea, Im getting my friend to buy it for me from Singapore.

2. Yes you will be fine all games support 720p. And upscaling shouldnt be an issue.
