Hey guys, I'm still very early in the game (Kvatch), and I'm short on gold. Any tips?
Oh and what's the fastest way to level up?

Ah I see... I'm only level 3 and I had a hard time clearing the first oblivion gate... tried only twice and died both times, so now I'm exploring the land.
I also tried killing those guards in the cities/towns but I always end up being owned by them. Eh what will happen if I kill everyone in a city/town? Is it even possible? |

Damn it I'm still at level 3, with no oblivion gates cleared.
I've been playing this game on and off, mostly doing unnecessary things like trying to kill the castle guards. What's the optimum level to tackle the first gate? |

QUOTE(hezda @ May 6 2007, 03:36 PM) Guys, my damn copy of Oblivion is officially dead... well, half dead actually. It came to a point where it cant load my lastest save and pop out the dirty disc error message. Tried using the toothpaste method, I guess I have probably took the wrong step, it actually made the situation even worse. Same thing happened to me, but I managed to fix it using the toothpaste+hairgel method. There are some slight scratches appeared on the disc after I have encountered my frist 3ROD while playing Oblivion. Since then, no longer my Xbox is able to display the title screen properly (which shows the map of Cyrodill) and only appears like a corrupted screen with weird colors. however, I am still able to load and play my game just fine by that time. Only the dirty disc message would pop out occasionally. Last night it has became worse... now it keeps pop out the dirty disc message when it loads to half way. tried the clear cache method and still no use. Did you simply put toothpaste on the disc and wipe it or what? |

QUOTE(nargoe @ May 6 2007, 07:34 PM) 1. Apply the toothpaste on the affected areas (i.e. scratches)Just a bit will do. Don't rub the toothpaste on the disc in a circular motion . Just rub it gently from the inner circle to the outer area of the disc; from the hole to the edge of the disc. Anyway if the inner circle area isn't scratched you don't have to start from there. 2. Let it dry under the fan or something, until the paste becomes hard. Put a bit of water on the disc, and wipe it with a lint-free cloth or something similar. (using the same motion mentioned above) You don't have to wipe it until the disc is 100% clean, if you try to do that you might remove the toothpaste that has filled the scratched areas. 3. Dry the disc... and pray to god that it will work. If it doesn't, you can repeat from step 1 again. It didn't work for me the first time, so for the second time I used hairgel (Loreal Architect Wax) instead. Btw I also managed to revive a movie DVD using the toothpaste method alone. |

QUOTE(PrivateJohn @ Jan 3 2008, 05:28 AM) After 1 year of letting my Oblivion collecting dust, i decide to give it a go again as a Wood Elf, archer. lol I had more of those in my game last time, thanks to what seemed to be minor scratches on the disc. after I 'polished' the disc with a toothpaste and hairwax, the bugs were fixed.Too bad, at the beginning level of the game i am already encountering serious bug issues, can't proceed any further..no many how i restart, reload, resave, redownload content etc. ![]() This post has been edited by cannavaro: Jan 3 2008, 10:44 AM |
