just reach level 5 with blood and broken bones. and i think the mind controlling spell is really OP. i can even 1-hit a level 16 deserter...

i like playing gwent. simple card game and i dont think the rule is that hard to understand. unless you skipped through all the explanation etc, then you will have a hard time playing it.
one thing you need to remember is that weather card affect BOTH players. so, don't use the fog card when you had put a lot of archer on the field etc.
